Better than a gain:D when dh starts his new hrs i know i will struggle, need to plan what im going to do as we wont be eating till at least 6.30:eek: this is late for us as we usually eat 5ish as ready for tea then being up at 5.30.
That's the same as us.
We have been eating at 6.30-7 which is far too late for me.We're all different.
DH and I always eat about 7.30 in the evening. That means I don't need evening snacks.
I'm rarely hungry any earlier but if I feel peckish I'll have a piece of ham or beetroot or cornichons straight from the jar.
W are all different, but that perhaps coincides with what time you get up? i am up at 5.30 every day and out the door at 6.30:o
I have my tea then have my "pudding" fruit and ice cream/yoghurt at about 8 , no snacks:DSealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance::dance:0 -
Well done tweets and curl girl! :T:T:T:T:T
We do the same most days, sometimes later if I haven't made a slow-cooker meal.
We're up at 6 but not back from work until around 6pm, then we like to go for a longish walk together, so cooking gets pushed back a bit. It works for us and the walks are our favourite part of the day, so food/cooking has to fit around them.
See thats the difference at the moment dh finishes at 3, me before usually:DSealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance::dance:0 -

I think the problem arises when you have people with different time frames. DH and I have always eaten late as we always finished work late with a longish commute. These days we could eat earlier but the habit has stuck.
I find it strange (and a bit irksome) when my brother visits as he's prowling around looking for his 'tea' at 5.30. Then he expects 'supper' later in the evening.
Could it be a regional thing?0 -

At home tea was always 6 Mon-thurs, 7 on Fri and 1.15 on a Sunday.
Friday was late cause my pap who my mum cooked for as well worked late on a Friday.
Mum always said dinner on time so can get washed up and dried up so she could either sew/iron/relax for a bit before bed. Taking into account she cooked from scratch everyday for 9 and also worked part time.
Its like we always had a bed time, kids these days dont seem to have:oSealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance::dance:0 -
Evening all.
Commiserations to those going through some rough times at the moment. I won't comment as lots of good advice given already. All I'd say is Lush, keep going to your choir. It's important that we all do things that give us pleasure, especially when times are hard. I'm convinced singing kept me sane during a difficult time.
Sky, wonderful news on your health and great progress on SW too.
Is anyone else craving 'Winter' food? Stews, soups and the like? I'm getting a bit fed up of salad with everything! Need to shake up my meal plans I think. I'll have a browse of the recipes at the start of the thread and my favourite SW websites. I'm still maintaining though a bit off the rails this weekend carb wise.I think the problem arises when you have people with different time frames. This is a problem in my house. I'd happily eat later (with the bonus of not wanting to eat again) but OH is out of the house before 6am, home usually 4-4.30 and starving as breakfast and lunch have been very early in the day. If I'm making something that won't come to any harm warmed up, I'll sometimes wait and eat later, but not everything is suitable to reheat. When I worked full time he usually cooked during the week and that made it a bit later as he couldn't start till he got home. We've managed largely because he's veggie and our meals do sometimes differ anyway.0 -
Thank you Esmy. :TI think the problem arises when you have people with different time frames. DH and I have always eaten late as we always finished work late with a longish commute. These days we could eat earlier but the habit has stuck.

It could be a regional thing, but also depends on the needs of the people being fed. When my children were younger we always ate tea at 5 or 5.30, because that suited their needs, bed times, etc. If DH was home later we saved his food for him. (I'm a northerner but have lived in various parts of the UK--and abroad--since leaving home aged 19.)
Now that we're an all adult household, it makes sense to eat later to accomodate our work and leisure interests.
You could always hand your brother a pack of pasta, some tomatoes and an onion when he's prowling at 5.30.2022. 2% MF challenge. £730/30000 -

YES! I can not wait for cooler weather to get back to my favourite foods.
well scales friday morning showed a slight loss. not bad for a few days on plan. but i did totally ruin it over the weekend with having been at rugby. though we did spend time planning next season food wise (no more fast food/unhealthy sports centre rubbish we will take our own wraps and fillings, fruit etc) but I am 'officially' starting on Wednesday - my birthday
had two massive chats with OH sans child. we are now on the same page but not entirely the same paragraph. better than we were though. much better.
going to spend sometime tonight trying to plan a few days for the beginning of the week as not paid until tuesday************************************
