It's Slimwell. We used to really like their bolognese ragu, which made a great easy meal with courgetti, but it looks like they've stopped doing it. We've got the chicken saag in the freezer but haven't tried it yet.

I haven't tried their tikka masala as we like the SW one and manage to stretch one packet across the two of us so it's better value.

I don't understand why some of the syn values come out so high as in general there are direct comarisions with SW brand meals and the Slimwell ones are both lower in calories and cheaper, but hey ho !

I'm getting a bit fed up with ALDI - it;s a 40 mile round trip for us and we made the trip last week hoping to stock up on lamb rogan josh but they only had one - which is one more than the last couple of times we've been ! I wish they'd realise that it;s far mre popular than the prawn bhuna and not package them half and half ....

    Thanks for the info poohsticks.:)

We enjoyed the chicken tikka. DH was happy with sharing the single portion (we had mushrooms, chips and rice as well). The meat quality wasn't comparable with the Specially Selected range though. I must give the Iceland SW one another try. I found it watery when I tried it ages ago.

Fortunately my Aldi is only a couple of miles away. I used to grab several Lamb Rogan Josh for the freezer but then the stock levels improved so I stopped. Now they seem to be going backwards again so I'll have to pop in midweek and see what they've got.

Someone must have put the ingredients through the syn calculator to get those values I suppose. People tell me that you can get those sort of results with SW meals too. Very confusing. I don't like the 'it's magic' type of blind faith some have in SW. I prefer rational explanations but I suppose they're not going to give secrets away as it's a business after all.

SSM Does that 185.6 mean you weigh that ?
  • Afternoon! Shattered.com today. Yesterday's charity event was a very long 12 hours on my feet, but went well. Know idea what I ate for dinner, thought I took Bol out of freezer, but it wasn't! As I didn't have time to sit & eat, ate it on the run, but it was nice & I know syn free :D. Glad I took food with me, grazed along the day which meant I resisted temptation.

Had chicken to cook off today, so that is currently in the oven (lots of mini fillets) being cooked with onions, mushrooms, s,p & garlic in passata. Will be able to freeze portions so a few meals easily done.

Lots to be done at home today but not got inclination! Think I might start sorting out what I have to take to Egypt, need to write lists:rotfl:

I weigh 210 and I'm really short too! :o  I feel your pain about the gain though, thats's so frustrating!! :(:(

But, 9 months ago I weighed 225. It's taken so long because I've needed several months of breast cancer treatment (operation and other stuff), so losing weight seemed less important for a while. Hopefully in remission now though (still waiting for the result of one test). :)

Sorry to read about your family troubles, it sounds like a really tough situation. :(

  • Afternoon all

Congratulations to everyone whose lost & cwtchs to those who need them.

Had a good night's sleep last night and whilst I'm finding stairs tricky today otherwise I'm fine, surprisingly. Have also discovered a remedy for this itching insect bites....toothpaste.

Back on it today as far as I can and tomorrow will be a similar story. Might even do an internet shop for Tuesday rather than trying to wing it.
