Well, I've woken up this morning, and it turns out I didn't set things up right to record to Calzaghe fight. Oops! :)

I'll have to watch the replay - don't spoil it for me!! ;)

Lightweight! :p I set the alarm clock to keep going off every 10 mins from midnight so I didn't miss it. A great fight is all I'll say. One of them is no longer unbeaten.

I have just cancelled my Setanta Sports contract and I will never go back to them after the way I was treated. We were supposed to get two months free through TalkTalk. We were billed £9.99 more or less straightaway and after questioning this we were told it was a error and that the refunds department would be in touch to refund us. That has not happened and we are still chasing the refund. We have now been told by an extremely rude operator that we won't get the money back unless we write in and ask. They will not be in touch with us.

When I rang to cancel, they said they will be cancelling from the date the account started. This was not true, it was infact a date the week before. When we went with them they activated our account a week before they actually sent the box out for us to use so we couldn't watch anything. They then agreed to change our activation date to the day we got the box. But when I cancelled, the very rude chap would not cancel from the new activation date, only from the old. This means we are losing a week of the agreed contract (including a game we wanted to see) and he told me that there was nothing he was prepared to do about it as it wasn't his problem when we got the box.

I will not be using Setanta again and I woud just like to warn people that it is not as good as it seems to be. Of course, this is only my own experience and you must make up your own minds.
    3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

What do you make of the service, billing problems aside? I'm pretty happy with it based on what I've seen so far. Nobody likes billing problems with any company though, so I appreciate your frustrations.

A friend of mine signed up this afternoon using the website I mentioned on the first page. £9.99 rather £5, but no connection fee, so I guess that's better than nothing.

    How do you know that??
Did it actually say no connection fee when ur friend signed up

If the t&c were read it says...

    2. Subscription Payments

    (h) A reasonable non-refundable registration fee shall be paid by you with the first Subscription Payment due for the Service under this Contract.

Which is the tenner connection charge ;)

I don't know. He just said they didn't take the additional £10 charge. Unless the bill him for it in month two...which if those T&C's are right, they couldn't do. Could they?

If they have already taken his 1st months payment without the connection fee then technically
    no.. they cant :T

Cool. Probably worth keeping an eye on it next month, just in case.
