Setanta Sports for £5 a month

You could well be right. I can't remember the date of the last Hatton fight, but I'd assume that Setanta are hoping more keep the service in 3 months time as there's more football on now than there was a few months ago (obviously, since it was the Summer).
As great as deals like this are for you and I, for Setanta, they're eventually going to have to stop doing them though. They paid what..£100m for the football rights? I don't see them making that money back to be honest. That's not my problem though.

Ive just cancelled Setanta Sports after the Ricky Hatton deal, it took me over half an hour convincing the "Accounts manager" that I didnt have a 12 month contract even quoting the original website (http://na.setanta.tv/ ). The even wanted me to send a photocopy of their own website to prove the deal ever existed . Eventually they allowed me to give 30 days notice, but did have the cheek to offer me the £5 a month deal for 3 months even though I had told them I had'nt watched the channels since the Ricky Hatton fight. Me thinks they could of bitten off a little too much competing with the other big sports broadcaster.
I hope this link can help anybody else in the same predicament0 -
i think its best to go with direct debt when getting setanta then just cancel that so you dont have to go into any trouble with contacting them direct.0

Thanks for this piece of Info, just signed while eating my sandwich at lunchtime, activated after I finished
2 Liverpool matches in the next week Live on Sultannnnnna so perfect timing and of course LFC tv too:T :T
Have taken screen shots and payed by DD so hopefully will have no problem cancelling, but I'll see what its like for the first 3 months and may even keep it on for a tenner a month;)I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -

having joined for 3 months i find since doing so i cant get 3 channels,no picture on golf and SS1 and SS@,i cant watch the footie, everytihng else works fine even the sky free channels.
I am advised after ringing sky i should add that the signal is weak and seems to be a LNB problem. So now i pay a fiver a mointh just to watch LFC TV and racing channel and a couple of others, not what i had in mind.
I do not know how much to sort the lnb outside on the dish but i do know its old, maybe worth going for a new sky plus box.
I do not get the signal for freeview by the way0 -
This one has now expired by the looks of it.0

I would be very suprised if it had - ive seen it advertised on the website still. I will try and get more info for you guys.
by the way, if you pay via DD and cancel and owe them money, they will reconnect you and "overlook" the balence - mainly because the sales agent does not have the facility to be able to see the balence or do anything about it.
I have not tried this, but it is my belief that you can do this as many times as you want.:D

A friend of mine signed up this afternoon using the website I mentioned on the first page. £9.99 rather £5, but no connection fee, so I guess that's better than nothing.0
