I said this exact thing to my husband last night DIA. It's just as well i'm all over my accounts like a rash otherwise i'd definitely have missed it. Companies must scoop millions in profit from things like this because people don't notice or can't be bothered to deal with it.Sealed Pot Challenge 075

Half way through the week and nothing much to report here.
No spends
Managed to not spend anything this week so far which is a miracle (except things like 20p for my son's lunchtime milk at school but I don't count that) and I don't think i'll need to pick anything up until shopping at the weekend. We still have plenty of milk and our meals are planned for the week so let's see.
Remortgage dragging on
Still no word on my mortgage being completed - it's supposed to be done by the end of the month but with 8 days left and no word from the solicitors, i'm a bit concerned. If it's not done by then, I'm assuming we'll just pay our monthly payment on 1st Feb as normal and will drop onto the variable rate (no idea how that'll affect our payments though). Slightly concerned that we'll pay our current mortgage on 1st then if our new mortgage goes through on e.g. 8th, we'll need to pay the big first payment (which is almost double) on 8th! That'd be one massive whopping great amount to pay on a mortgage within the space of a week.
Have emailed the mortgage advisor we are using to see if they can shed some light. It's times like these that I wish I was a bit more clued up on these things.

Hi, just popping in to say hello. I've read your diary for months but never commented. I'm totally in awe of how you manage to keep on top of everything you do with your money, your job and your family life. Had to giggle about the hissy fit. I breathed a sigh of relief on your behalf that you didn't get to say what you wanted to :rotfl: Also want to say your hubby sounds a superstar working extra jobs and holding the fort when you're away. xx0

Thanks so much for stopping by teafor2 - I've also been reading your diary!
You're right, life is immensely busy but to be honest I just bumble my way through it and hope for the best. I have bursts of organisation then something else happens and it falls by the wayside.
I'm a really lucky egg having my other half (not a soppy post, honest!). He's great at taking the reins when I'm galavanting with work and doesnt grumble. And yes, he really is a hatd worker. The extra work he does makes it possible for us to have more treats than we otherwise would.
I'm also super glad I didn't have a chance to explode at the poor guy! Must learn to cool down and think rationally before jumping to conclusions!Sealed Pot Challenge 075

I couldn't be happier that this working week is coming to A close - I have quite a lot on my plate to get done today but I really need a weekend of not thinking about work. It's beginning to really take over my brain.
Yesterday was not a NSD - I had a chiropractor appointment so that's £35 paid. I went for a run after which was free thoigh
Low spend weekend
My husband is working all weekend so I'm planning a super low spend weekend.
- kids clubs (paid monthly)
- parking to pick up sons new glasses (70p)
- visiting grandparents (free)
- Sunday at home playing with toys / crafts and cleaning bedrooms (free)
- grocery shopping (£45 budget hopefully)
Its the end of the month and we are stretching our remaining funds pretty far but I'm hopeful we can do it.
Today I must do a meal plan and shopping list!
Right, off to get the kids ready for school.Sealed Pot Challenge 075

I'm going to look at Shoppix today but before I do was wondering if you have a code which would add some points to your account - think that's how these things work?
Have a great day. x0 -
