Thanks kindofagilr - unfortunately, my nice lunch vibes were shattered when I realised my husband put the leftover stew in the freezer instead of the fridge. I could've defrosted it but I had soup in the fridge so thought best to use that up before it goes off. Oh well, i'll tap into the stew later in the week.
DIA - it's an extra lot of money that we hadn't budgeted for, but it'll be worth it. The next time we do something like this it'll likely be Florida - quite a number of years off!Sealed Pot Challenge 075

£2 into the sealed pot this evening, leaving a few pounds in my purse for odds and ends if required. Had to stop in for milk today - £1.60 - but managed to leave with just milk! Miraculous.
Put in an hour at the gym tonight in a weights class so feeling good after getting those endorphins flowing.
Youngest seems to have perked up a lot - he's not 100% but getting there. Back at nursery which meant I managed to get some work done today thankfully.
Watching some old school 1994 ER tonight since I never did get round to watching it. It's not quite Greys (yet) but i'll keep going with it.Sealed Pot Challenge 075

Wages
Another week, another late salary payment for my husband. It was due to be paid yesterday (normally in by lunchtime) but is still not in the bank now. The only saving grace is that no bills are dependent on this (yet) and we do have the overdraft there as a cushion if it wasn't in on time for a bill to come out. But it irritates me that his boss doesn't see it as important to make sure wages are in on time. Humph.
Also, when he gets paid, i'm paying a chunk to the CC and I feel like this month has dragged so far in terms of progressing debt repayments so i'd quite like the nice fuzzy feeling of seeing the balance numbers go down and the Paying debt off before Xmas 2019 challenge numbers go up!
Credit card
I mentioned this on here before, but due to complete ignorance, I hadn't noticed that one of our credit card 0% interest deals was ending until it had ALREADY ended and I saw the interest on our account.
Anyway, it's bad timing because we are in the process of remortgaging and this should be complete at the end of the month (fingers crossed) but it means that I've been reluctant to seek out a new 0% deal until this is complete in case it affects our credit score and availability of a good mortgage product.
We have just signed all of the legal paperwork and sent it back to the solicitors so I'm hoping it'll be complete sooner rather than later so i can BT and stop being charged interest. It's not horrific amounts (I think it was £28 in both Nov and Dec) so i'm expecting one more month's worth of interest and then as soon as I get the go ahead from the solicitors, i'll be BTing onto a new card.
Fingers crossed this will be the last time we'll do this! The CC will hopefully be gone before the next period expires!
Get up and go
I'm really struggling to find my motivation this week - not so much at home, as i'm keeping on top of things as much as possible, but with work. I'm just struggling to get things going. I wish there was a switch that would knock my brain into gear and just get things done!
On that note, I'm off for some lunch and then I will most definitely be writing a short PM to-do list that I MUST get finished this afternoon. Maybe short, sharp lists will do the trick? More achievable?Sealed Pot Challenge 075

Qmee
Just managed to cash out another £3.36 from Qmee. I'm finding this little and often thing takes the edge off the fact I've often got a fortnight in between any significant payments towards my debt so this is helpful. Off to update over on the challenge board.Sealed Pot Challenge 075

Its Thursday and still no wages...
How annoying. I want to overpay the CC and I want to do it now! (In the voice of the bratty kid in Charlie and the chocolate factory...violet?)
I've got a really busy day ahead so really must get my head in the game. So much to do and so little time.
I do need to buy potatoes today, unless I can think of something better and filling to go with the fish cakes that I took out the freezer last night. We have broccoli but one fish cake and some broccoli isn't going to cut it. Maybe for me (just) but not for the three hungry males in my house!
Right, off to get some work done!Sealed Pot Challenge 075

Thank-you for reading my diary, Homegrown. I'm glad you found that the bits about meal planning & shopping from your own cupboards first was helpful.

I hope you managed to achieve today. I still wasn't motivated to work!!
I think I read on another diary that your hubbies wages have arrived? Hope soIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Abba, thankfully the wages arrived late afternoon! Phew.
Thanks for stopping by foxgloves. I do love reading other diaries and picking up little things to try. The shopping from home first is definitely ingrained in my brain now. I must've scored 10 things off my shopping list by checking while writing my meal plan. I'll keep dipping in to your diary, as your motivation is infectious
DIA - I managed to maximise the time I spent at a desk today which was good but spent quite a lot of time at meetings and on calls today which eats into time. Annoying as motivation was high. Just need to hit the ground running tomorrow and not get side tracked.
Hope you get a motivational boost soon. Start small and build upsounds silly but how about a rewards system? Like hive yourself a list of 5 things to do and do them first thing. Once you complete them you can reward yourself with say a coffee out or a movie snuggled on the couch to relax? Just something to consider.
Money
As above, husband was finally paid late this afternoon so managed to pay £150 into the credit card.
I'm tracking all of my payments this month and noting which are normal dds and what are overpayments. I think motivation to overpay will be really high when I see the figures! I've already overpaid more than £200 this month with another couple of weeks to go so excited to see what I can achieve this month.Sealed Pot Challenge 075

DS1 and the mystery of the missing and worn out clothes
Just as i thought i might get through one month with some cash in my gifts/ clothing pot, my eldest son has other ideas! This week he has put holes in the knees of two pairs of school trousers, meaning he only has two left. I just hung up one of the remaining pairs and the knees are hanging on by a thread and could go at any moment. *eyeroll*
Not only that, but he's down to just two school jumpers from four. I checked today at his after school club who don't have any in the lost property and I've been asking him all week to check at school but he keeps forgetting. Tomorrow at pick up, i'll ask the teacher if we can check lost property/ in his class box but if there's no sign, we'll need to buy some more.
We need at least 2x trousers = £11 for 2 pack and 1, possibly 2 jumpers at £10 each. I have money there, and i know it's there to be used for things like this but I'm just a bit frustrated that there's always something. I realise it could be a LOT worse!
Must talk myself out of these negative thoughts before they manifest themselves and make me a grump.Sealed Pot Challenge 075
