I'm not looking to take legal action, I just want the latest version of the car when I collect it as new.

Thats not an unreasonable expectation for anyone buying a new car.

If the car was for collection before the new facelift launch date then fine but its not and I wasnt informed of the impending face lift.

You will get the car you ordered.

As already posted, you could cancel and order the facelift model but will pay more and wait even longer (13+ weeks for a Skoda ).

The dealer (probably) wouldn't have had any info about the facelift model if it hadn't been officially announced and almost certainly wouldn't have been able to see it on their system to place any sort of order.

Yes I totally agree with this but can I cancel the order now I've signed to it? Its currently 16+ weeks for delivery

If the new car is released in September and build time is 16 weeks if you are getting yours before September plus 16 weeks why would it be anything other than the old model?

Quite why it takes 16 weeks to build a car I don't know, Henry Ford must be spinning in his grave.

I'm not getting it before september, I'm getting it at the end of september possibly october

It doesn't. It takes that long as there are many orders being built before the OPs as there is a backlog.

If your car has a 16 week lead time, the facelift model will have an at least 16 week lead time too. If it!!!8217;s released in September, you!!!8217;ll only be able to work lace an order and collect in January 2019. If you!!!8217;re happy with that, cancel your order and wait until September until the book opens for the new car.

Other than that, there!!!8217;s nothing more you can do. Moaning on here won!!!8217;t help.

If you only ordered it 2 weeks ago then probably yes, the factory order slot won't be allocated yet but you need to be quick.

    Hi,

I've signed up for a new car on pcp just over 2 weeks ago.

The car is built to order with a minimum 16 weeks delivery but as of yet the dealership has no confirmation date.

Today I've read in the press that the new face lift model will be in the showrooms in September (before my delivery date) so my car will be the old model when I collect it.

Surely I should have been informed of this fact? Apart from the increased depreciation when I drive off the forecourt, better deals should be negotiated on pre-facelift models.

I feel badly let down by the salesman.
Who wants to collect a new 'pre-face lift' car unless it was a great deal!

Do I have grounds to complain?

    Thanks for any advice

    Regards

When you order (anything) you order what is available at the time, 16 week lead time is what I had, don't get to excited over facelifts, the facelifted Golf, whiclst having digital dash (doesn't look as good in real life as the standard dials) things like lockable glovebox gone, under seat drawers and other minor things, often just before a facelift , items get added on that usually would be an at cost option.
Also, if the facelift version of your car is announced at the motorshow, then you can probably expect January to March 2019 before they are seen on the road.

Umm, stupid question, but what does the contract say about cancelling? If anything?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
