The mortgage payment has been paid, just over £20 less this month thanks to the new rate I switched one of the sub accounts to. I’ve also made an overpayment of £24.80 to round the mortgage down to £99,600, bringing the total OP’s this mortgage year (since mid March), to £366.17.
Off to make breakfast for DS and I, have a good Saturday all xxMortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

Today’s not been one of the better ones. It started off OK with DS and I curling up to watch a feel-good film, but it has been a REALLY boring day ever since and I have almost been climbing the walls. I cannot think of a single thing to do today. DS has been happy enough and has wanted to play his various computer games and watch tv all day, but has not wanted to go out for a walk or do anything else. I made him turn off screens for a while and we played a couple of quick board games, other than that, I have been sat on my backside, bored stiff.I peeled the veg for a roast chicken dinner for the two of us for tonight which is presently cooking in the oven - a 93p whole chicken I picked up in the YS section in Tesco last week and put in the freezer. I’ll make a chicken curry with the leftovers tomorrow.I need to come up with something todo for the next few weeks as I really can’t cope being this bored. I’ve sorted out every drawer and cupboard I own, cleaned the car, done a freezer inventory, baked cakes and cookies - but I only eat them, so trying not to bake too much - and I’ve meal planned for the week. I’ve even wrapped a birthday gift for a birthday late in May! Maybe I will have to tackle starting the ridiculously difficult cross stitch kit I bought...Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

Do you enjoy reading? Is there a series of books that you could challenge yourself to read? The Poldark series? Works of Jane Austen? Insert genre of choice... I’ve found some interesting books on offer on Amazon for the Kindle, which will never be quite the same for me as reading a proper book, but in terms of extra reading material without spending too much, it’s good.
Do you enjoy art? DD3 has been spending her time painting. Patchwork? Must confess I have a large cross stitch project on the go but I keep looking at it and thinking that I’ve got too many others things to do before tackling it!paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Thanks for the ideas HSL2, will definitely have a think about them. I love art and design - but it's also my job - so can sometimes feel like I'm still at work! I need to look at getting back to doing the specific things I used to love many, many moons ago and making it enjoyable for myself once again.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

A nice surprise this morning in the form of an extra child tax credit payment of £60.63. I wasn't expecting this, so logged onto my online account and it confirms the payment, plus my tax credits for the next year have more than doubled from £124 to £252 a month. I know tax credits were being increased, but this seems a lot more than I was expecting, so I'm nervous. I don't want to end up owing them money. I think the best thing to do is to stash it into a savings account so its there if they have made a mistake and ask for it all back...
The extra £60 from today has been paid off the credit card, along with another £70 from the house account, so the credit card is now cleared.

I’ve found this too since the beginning of the new financial year and have had a letter confirming the new payments. I’m wondering if employers automatically send in P60s to HMRC which then adjusts the amount?paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.
