Would you trust DD to paint her own bedroom CCL? Perhaps if you gave her some tips from youtube an supplied the paint/rollers/paintbrushes? Call it a design project!

Thanks HSL2, it was nothing difficult though, just cutting the slats straight and screwing them to the existing structure with a battery drill. Easy peasy!

I've actually managed to book an online delivery this morning for next week. I was surprised, as there were lots of slot available this morning when I looked, but none when I went back to it a couple of hours later out of interest. I've ended up spending more than I would have done if I'd gone shopping myself, but I'm relieved that I won't need to go out next week, especially as I have DS.
It's raining here today, the first rain we've seen in a long time, and it feels good to see the drizzle for some reason. It will give the plants and lawn a much needed soak if nothing else.
I've taken a bag of blackberries picked last year out of the freezer and will make a pear and blackberry crumble later as I seem to have loads of tinned pears and also found a bag of crumble topping in the cupboard that I think my parents gave me a while ago.
I've taken a minted lamb burger from the recent butcher's delivery out of the freezer for tonight (yum!) and put a portion of leftover chicken balti I made last night into the freezer, updating my freezer list as I go so I keep on top of what I have in there.
I'm not sure what else I plan on doing today yet. I shall probably hoover through the house and may clean the kitchen/utility/WC and hall floors, perhaps then I'll sit down with a cuppa and a book whilst they're drying.

Hope everyone has a happy day today. xx

I find decorating OK. I ove the finished look, but it's all the prep that is so hard. All the tidying and cleaning that moving furniture means.

I agree Drawingaline. I (usually) love the end result and love improving my space and putting my stamp on things, but the process can be a pain.

DS is back  :) but I've been reminded how difficult it can be home schooling/parenting whilst working from home too.
I ventured out to the supermarket late one night over the weekend whilst DS was with his Dad and when it was quiet, so have cancelled my home delivery slot for someone who needs it more. I also spent £20 less in store than I was due to online and a few too many cheap-as-chips easter eggs might have come home with me too.  :#  We are going to melt some of the chocolate down later and make some cakes. :)
The extra CB payment has hit the bank today. I need to update YNAB later to see if I can afford to sweep that and the extra CTC payment which will be received on Wednesday, to savings or overpayments. There is not much left in the account at the moment, but payday is Friday and we don't need anything.

Going to have to update more later. DS wants my attention and I'm trying to reply to emails and my multi tasking is not good enough to do 3 things at once presently...

YNAB uodated, budget jiggled and £79.19 paid off the credit card. There'll be just over £100 left on there when I eventually receive a refund from some tickets we booked last year that have been cancelled.

  • You're doing so well MeandO - still making the overpayments and staying focussed in spite of everything that's going on at the moment. It's hard juggling work and homeschool - and me and the two kids all work along similar lines.

You are good with your shopping. I spend far more in store than online so overspending on food is a lot atm! I also bought quite a few cheap easter eggs and have been making no flour chocolate cakes with them. I am going oo be so fat at the end of all this! 😂

It's not been a good few days - my Mum was rushed to hospital and emergency surgery was on the cards but it has now been rescheduled. Obviously she had to go to hospital alone too and was allowed not visitors. :(
DS is also not with me this week and I have been feeling quite lonely and have been struggling a bit. Anyway, trying to make today a better day.
I've managed to get some birthday money and the cash in my purse paid into the bank and so have paid the amount of £65 paid off of the mortgage. I've also paid just over £120 off the credit card too, leaving £130 on there now.
A couple of payments have also gone to the savings pots.
    Mortgage @ March 2019 £107K, now £99,934
    Mortgage OP's Year 1: £2355.68; Year 2: £341.37
    Savings: EF £1300; H2S £1250; PB’s £775 = £3325
Not much else to report tbh, just keep on keeping on.
