Good to see you back.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉0

Thanks both xx
Another £10 paid off the mortgage today so that’s £160 overpaid so far this month.
I’ve been reassured the £500 deposit i’m due should be returned tomorrow so hopefully that will materialise.
I’ve also sold the furniture for £250. I need to get to a bank to pay that in and divide between op’s and savings.
DS and I are having a day out tomorrow so there’ll be a few spends there, but will try to keep to a minimumwhilst still having fun.
Happy weekend all xxMortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

I seem to have come done with yet another flu bug. I’m feeling really rough and could quite happily take myself back to bed if DS wasn’t here. We went for our day out, even though I didn’t feel like it, I couldn’t let DS down. We both enjoyed, but also both glad to get home as we’d had enough.
DS spent a birthday voucher and money in some toy shops, I spent around £25 in the Swedish furniture place but also had a £5 birthday voucher they’d sent me so that reduced the cost a little. As it is, neither items I bought were right so I will return them soon.
We had a hot dog each for lunch there - super cheap but satisfying - and then drove home.
An item I ordered on eBay arrived damaged so I emailed the seller who told me to dispose of it and they will refund.
I’ve also listed another item for sale on fb. Hopefully it will sell soon as I really don’t want to have to eBay it.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

So, it turns out I’m proper poorly again. I came away from the ‘weekend’ doctors yesterday with a collection of strong antibiotics, steroids and inhalers.
Am so fed up with being ill and concerned about my job as it means another week off work at least. I always worry that they will use anything they can against staff if they have to get rid of more people and my sickness record this past 6 weeks hasn’t been good. It was pretty much spotless before that though which I hope is some consolation.
I didn’t spend a penny yesterday as wasn’t up to going food shopping as planned. DS has a medical appointment today so we have to go out. I’ll pick up a few bits we need whilst out and about today.
I have potentially sold the item advertised on fb at the weekend for £100. It is worth a little more, but it didn’t cost me anything (it was part of a BT promotional deal) and is of no use to me, whereas another £100 paid off the mortgage (or split 50/50 between mortgage and savings) is far more useful.
Today I also need to come home via a bank to pay the cash from last week’s sale in. Then I shall rest!
Have a good day all xMortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

Hope that you're on the mend very soon. I was the same running into Christmas at work. Never took any time off but then seemed to get every bug that was going and was off loads in a period of 3 months.
Take care and rest lots. Not giving up

Thank you CCL. Hope you’re well lovely, I have yet to catch up on your diary but will get there! XxMortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

So we made it to DS’s appointment and then to the bank and supermarket. £10 spent on new pj’s for DS, leaving £10 in the ‘clothes for DS’ category on YNAB for this month. If not used, it will be swept to the mortgage at the end of the month.
Groceries only came to £9 ish, but will need to pick up some frozen bits and fruit elsewhere later in the week.
The money from the furniture sale has been paid in and swiftly paid off the mortgage. It now looks like this:
Mortgage: £107K now: £105,988
Mortgage OP's 2019: £360.24/£1800
EF: £4600 • H2S: £600
Over £1k has been paid off it in a month, I’m really pleased. I’d love to be able to get the mortgage down to under £100k by its first year anniversary, but that is a huuuuuge target to achieve for me. It can’t hurt to aim for it though. I’d also like to build my emergency fund up to £10k, it currently stands at £4600, so I know I’m aiming too high to try and do both. One is a mighty task in itself.
I also received the £500 deposit refund from the house building company, which they’d sent to my old address.:eek: it’s not like i’ve just bought a house off them and part exchanged the old one or anything is it...Anyway, it’s been paid into the bank and will be used to top the EF up to £5k, leaving £100 which I may put in the ‘house fund’ to go towards sorting the garden out in the summer or for something else we may need. The £100 hopefully made this week from the sale will either go towards a mortgage OP or savings.
I’m also due £225 of cashback too at some point throughout the next few months, so that will be split between pots too.
Am feeling absolutely worn out and had a few dizzy spells whilst out this morning so definitely need to rest up a bit this afternoon. I need to phone work shortly and give them the good news that I won’t be in for the rest of the week too.

Another item sold and collected this afternoon for £5. It was something of DS’s that he decided he no longer wanted, so the money has gone into his money box.
We went for a stroll around a local nature reserve this afternoon. It’s free entry, but we spent £2.50 on some bird seed and a lovely card that I will frame and use as a print. It was nice to get out in the sunshine and have some quality time with DS although we’re both exhausted now!Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16
