Very annoyed - I just check TCB to find out the claim has already been declined for cashback - instantly declined! That's a new one to get them to click through them. I have lodged a complaint, but apparently they won't look at it until after the beginning of May. I'm so annoyed, I could have got the insurance slightly cheaper by not going through them.

    Thank you HSL2 xx
Unfortunately I don't think it will ever be any different. Why he can't just get on with his life and leave me out of it, I don't know. It's a shame, as we had an amicable split, or so I thought at the time. I didn't realise he was spreading so many lies about me behind my back, all whilst I was supporting him and setting him up in a brand new home.
Some leopards can't change their spots unfortunately.

I made another sale on ebay yesterday which will bring profit of around £6 once fees and postage have come out. I've wrapped both parcels I need to post and will do so when I'm next out at the end of the week. I've listed a couple more low value items on ebay this morning today too. It's not making me much, but is better than nothing, clears a bit of space and was destined for the charity shop anyway.
After my complaint about the cashback yesterday it has miraculously appeared in my TCB account today as 'pending', so hopefully that will be received eventually after all.

Last week I did something I never do and bought myself a piece of jewellery from etsy. It was a vintage, 2nd hand piece costing £20 so wasn't breaking the bank but still involved spending money on myself which I rarely do, especially for something so unnecessary. However, the design held significance for me and was something I had wanted to buy myself for a year now as a little positivity charm when I look at it. Instantly after buying it I felt guilty for spending money that could have gone into the savings or off the mortgage... Anyway, it arrived today and I am SO disappointed. It is not vintage, but cheap mass produced tat and I have immediately contacted the seller to request a full refund. It will cost me in postage too so I'm not amused. At least I'll get most of the money back hopefully. Some people really do try it on.

The monthly mortgage payment has come out of the account so it’s now down to £95,875.12. I will aim to pay off the £75.12 before next payday.

One of the items I listed yesterday has sold, so just over £5 in the bank from that one after postage and fees.

The annual YNAB fee has come out of my bank account today, I could have done without having to pay it this month but I wouldn't be without it now as I use it religiously, so it is money well spent.

DS's best friend has his birthday next week and DS wanted to pick something for him despite not being able to see him, so he chose something on Amazon this morning which I've had to pay for with the credit card as funds are so tight in the main bank account. :( I hate living like this but at least I know things will be much easier after the CB, CTC, salary and no council tax months coming up as the card will be paid off and there should be money in the bank.

After an astronomical (to me) grocery shopping bill last week, I've decided to go to Lidl from now on when I can. It is out of my way and not as convenient, but hopefully it will save me quite a bit of money. I have downloaded the app and registered this morning and received a £5 off a £25 spend so that will help this week. :) We don't actually need an awful lot, but I'm sure I'll spend £25.

I have been debating as to when to put the house back on the market. I am feeling really stuck in limbo here at the moment and itching to move and settle, DS has also mentioned about moving a few times and is keen to do so.  As much as it pains me to say, I think the sensible option may be to wait a few more months to see what the lockdown situation is like and hopefully more suitable houses on the market in the area we want to move to. I don't fancy people coming in and out of the house at the moment either with this new strain on the up. :(

I've just paid £79.93 off the credit card using what was left in the house/car pot, leaving a balance of £221.80 on there. I can't wait until this is paid off soon, I'm sure the not-much-money and credit card usage is adding to my sleepless nights atm, last night was particularly bad. :(
Today I'm feeling impatient to be in a better financial position and have been trying to think of ways to make more money. I have even thought of resurrecting my etsy shop I ran for a few years which did really well, but I would have to purchase all the equipment I need to make the products again as I sold it all, and there is so much more competition and plagiarism now, I doubt it's worth it. I need to come up with something else...

Another item has sold on ebay for £14, so probably around £11 after fees. I'm going to need every penny I can get... I just realised that the tax credits will be dropping in April once the government removes the extra covid support. I'll be over £10 down a month so I'm really going to have to re-asses my budget, it's proving difficult enough at the moment as it is. :(

All my eBay parcels have been posted and the item of jewellery I’m returning. I used one of those locker type things for the first time, convenient, but quite odd with various shaped doors flying open at me when I scanned the parcels. I hope they all reach their destinations ok as I didn’t get any sort of receipt.
