So so sorry to hear your news. Sounds like a lucky escape. Good of the estate agent to let you know of these issues. I would take the house off the market and next year put it on with a higher price. Looks like it was under priced. Hard as it is I would count your blessings xx2025 Decluttering 10472⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My buyers pulled out today so I’ve taken the house off the market for now. I feel quite relieved to be honest, now definitely feels like it’s not the right time. The plan for the next few months is to try and build up the savings again and cover the £1,000 I’ve lost from this whole shenanigans. 😞Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,956.86

Just wrote a long post and lost it all, so will keep this short and sweet.
Total savings now £5200. Hopefully I should be able to increase my monthly amount to savings from £150 currently to £400 for the next few months if I’m savvy and stick to the budget. The council tax free months will add another £300 to the pot if the money is not needed elsewhere at the time.
Saying all that, it is DS’s and OH’s birthdays in the early part of next year so may not be able to save the full amount in Jan/Feb to cover those.
I have been gifted loads of hand me downs for DS from a family member’s son who has also grown like a weed lately. I’m really grateful as it’s all good quality and clean and DS has been growing out of things as fast as I can buy them lately. There must be over £500 worth of clothes there, I’m not kidding. The family members don’t really know the meaning of budgeting and saving and tend to blow money a lot, with the children having SO much ‘stuff’ that lots of the clothes still had the labels attached.I have sorted through and washed everything again this week and put what we don’t need as well as some of DS’s too small clothes into a pile for a friend of a friend who has a slightly younger DS, and is struggling financially. The only good thing to come out of this whole house move fiasco is that I’ve decluttered a lot, with probably 15-20 bag fulls gone off to the charity shop. I will continue to do this for the next few months and sort things into an eBay pile, a charity pile and a ‘pass on’ pile. I may have decluttered a little too much with all my spare bedroom furniture gone to my friend, but she needed it more than we do and I’m glad it’s helped her. I may have to buy a cheap bed for house photos/viewings when I do sell as the room looks a lot smaller without furniture in it and you can really see how much room there actually is when it has a bed in for scale! I may just buy a bed base and whack a duvet on top! (Oops, I even gave her the duvet and covers!).
Off to bed for me now, I’m hoping tomorrow brings better news for my Dad - he is back in hospital with complications again. 😢
Stay well and safe everyone xxMortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,956.86

Sorry to read about your house woes. We are similar here, getting to the throw in the towel stage. There are so many financial pros to staying put I almost do it. Then I come home and can't park, or the boys are arguing in their shared bedroom and I am back to wanting to move asap!Debt free Feb 2021 🎉3

I have my fingers crossed that everything works out the best for you Drawingaline, it’s really not been the best time to buy or sell a house has it! XMortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,956.86

Not much to report really. I’m eagerly awaiting payday so that I can shift more money into the savings pots and maybe pay £50 off the mortgage. Now that I’ll be staying here longer I’d really like to get the mortgage down whilst still saving money too.
There’ll be about £75 to pay off the credit card when I get paid too. I did what I normally do and what I promised myself I wouldn’t do this year - bought something else for DS for Christmas last minute. I am debating whether to keep it until his birthday though which is early next year.I am not having Christmas dinner this year as DS will be with his Dad, but I ordered party food from Iceland for the evening with DS. I spent just over £35 to ensure free delivery, but this included bread and milk and some other essentials.I’ve been feeling really down these past few days for no obvious reason, I guess it’s a culmination of everything that’s happened lately and missing my family. I hope I snap out of it soon though as I’m not much fun to be around at the moment. 😕Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,956.86

Sending ((((hugs)))) XXI Believe.....

Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

We’re in full lockdown here now, necessary, but still really sad. Day to day it doesn’t really make much difference to us as we haven’t really been going out anyway, but when you know you’re not able to it is a constant reminder of the horrible situation outside the door. It helps that the weather is vile outside and we don’t feel like going out in it anyway. Boredom is setting in a bit though. I try and suggest things to do with DS but he is at that age when board games are boring (with just the two of us) and he just wants someone of his own age to play with. 😕 I’m sure he’s having more fun when he’s at his Dad’s at the moment, I feel like I’m losing the closeness I’ve always had with him to be honest. 😥
It’s payday on Wednesday and I think I’m more excited about that than Christmas. I want to add more money to my savings and possibly pay the mortgage down a bit too. I’m feeling really impatient, about everything really! I think I need to try and chill out a bit. 😕

£50 sent to one savings account so far, plus £100 to the gifts pot and £100 to the car & house insurance/maintenance fund. Another £100 will go to the savings within the next few days (plus £25 H2S bonus) and then I’d like to try to send another £150 to the savings before next pay day too,
I’ve also cleared the credit card of a £65 balance.
