I hope that you are now realising how common this is, and how little chance they have of getting a penny out of a savvy motorist. Were they to take this to court, the judge is likely to give them a roasting.

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.

The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas.

This is just Highview, the most benign of all private parking companies. Once they see a forum template appeal, they will cancel the ticket.

Get your appeal in electronically today and by Tuesday and they will cancel.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I had one years ago from Aldi but the times were wrong on the ticket, there was no way I was there! They dropped it. I've been really careful since! I will be complaining loudly :-)

CM, some people, especially those who do not use search engines, need more reassurance than others.

Agreed but simply putting the word Highview into the forum search would reveal all!

Until you get confirmation from Highview continue with the appeal you have been advised to do - don't miss any deadlines!
