5 months to save £75 and I made one phone call, I filled in one form and I needed to send them proof of repair & payment. I also had to spend time opening and reading two of their letters.
For me, £75 and 5 months is worth the wait from the likes of this sort.0 -

Also because its not a claim on his insurance, his premiums won't go up. Kerching.....0 -

I'm surprised you succeeded and I'm happy to have been wrong.0

Claims like this only succeed if the Highways Agency or the Council check their records and see that they knew about the potholes a certain number of weeks before the incident took place. If they did then they are liable, if they didn't, then they aren't. That's why it's always worth reporting bad potholes.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

£75 is not "new windscreen" money. £75 is "windscreen claim excess" money. Also because its not a claim on his insurance, his premiums won't go up. Kerching.....
So this is on top of the insurance claim.
And, frankly, I do not believe Highways England have covered the insurance excess for a screen cracked by gravel thrown up from tyres.0 -
I've had a windscreen replaced for £80 before, so I believe it.
If it's an old 'plain' car with standard glass windscreen it's entirely plausibleChanging the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -

Multiple choice
a) Would you like to see my confirmation letter from Highways England?
or
b) My Highway England cheque?
or
c) Would you like my Highway England reference number for you to do your own checks on my case?
or
d) See all 3?0
