Unsolicited Text Messages

 Hi I am wondering if anyone can help me stop unwanted texts that I am receiving every day. I have just found out they are costing me £1 a time!
I remember entering my number for some customer service survey or something like that (I never normally do such things, it must have been a stupid moment). I delete the texts immediately but I received my phone bill from Talk Talk Onetel today to find I have been charged for each one. The number I am receiving them from is 81121 and I don't know how to stop them. I would be grateful for any advice.
Thanks,
alark

Can you not reply back to the number and put in stop in the text. It works on some of them0

Reply to the number with STOP in the message. Also, it depends on what phone you have, but with some models you can block numbers. I think it's a standard thing on Samsungs. I've got loads of blocked numbers like these in there, and it stops them getting through.
You could also try calling your network provider and asking them to block it. I remember seeing on TV about ICSTIS regulating premium rate text messages. http://www.phonepayplus.org.uk/consumers/number_ranges/sms.asp - This website may help.Everyday I am asked to be a magician, in a world where magic does not exist.0 -
complain to your supplier and they will give you a phone number (local rate)to call the company that are sending the txts, tell them you want the total cost of the txts refunded, they will do this rather than have youcomplain to the ombudsman0

Today i recieved 2 text messages from premium rate numbers 80160 and 81303, i have phoned my mobile network (three) and they dont care the guy just kept saying they are not from three there is nothing we can do.
Can i reclaim this money as i never asked for these messages and have never used services like these before.

To stop the messages text the word STOP in capitals to each number as new text not as a reply.
if you call three they should have the customer service number's for each number you have and you can contact them..they may refund any charges you got..sometimes they do....worth a try...

You probaly wont be able to claim it back. But 3 should of provided you with a number so you can stop the txt msgs coming through. I had the same problem, rang orange as i got charged nearly £10 for 2 txts, believe me i was fuming. There is thread on here some where about this subject, i will try find it. Try calling 3 again and ask to speak to a team leader/supervisor or manager as thats what i had to do coz even though i rang the number orange gave me and followed the procedure, the same thing happened and i got charged again. I later found out it was through a dating site which i never joined and was down to a nasty person who put my details on a website, so be cautious.Good luck0

To be perfectly honest it would not be the fault of three so speaking to manager or whatever may refund the charge this time as goodwill,
but that would not prevent the text's coming through you would need to speak to the other company directly..
Always be careful when inputting you mpn into eg internet sites or if you send text message's to a magazine for example always read small print as sometimes you can be signing up for subscription which can be very costly..

Yet again more '3' customers receiving unsolicited reverse bill texts, what is going on?
After last weeks scam fiasco you would think that '3' customer service would handle things a bit different instead of ' Not our fault, nothing to do with us'.0
