    Don't worry about us.
It would be nice if our medication was assured, but hey, think of the money that will be saved if we can't get it, die early and 'decrease the surplus population...

...But I am very worried about the future of the nhs and most sincerely hope that I'll still be alive this time next year to enjoy all of the simpler pleasures but life
Same here (brain tumour in this case) I just keep trudging along one bad pun at a time. At least we'll have some Trump fun to look forward to this time next year. He'll probably launch all the nuclear weapons on his last day [STRIKE]at school[/STRIKE] in office

Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?

Agree with you Capella but thankful that NHS Scotland is doing better than you south of the border.
  • Found out a little nugget from our community nurse this morning that I didn't know before - you can get paracetamol on prescription to save having to go around buying it two boxes at a time

Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?
  • I'm sorry if my 'simpler pleasures' offends, it certainly wasn't meant to and what I actually mean is that we've all become accustomed to a life of ease and plenty, have in many cases stopped valuing what we DO have and the feeling that 'we're worth it and entitled to anything that catches our eye' pervades life even the lives of those who don't have the means to keep buying but do it anyway. The medicine that keeps people alive doesn't come in that category, it's imperative that the NHS is fixed, made to run more smoothly and keeps giving the medical help, medicines and care that the people of this country need. I'm sorry if my words have hurt anyone.

There are a lot of people who are not having a life of ease and plenty.

Un - Our local CQC don't allow GPs to prescribe Paracetamol any more.
  • I know because we are one of them, we have to be very sensible in our choices, I think I had better drop out of the conversation because I'm upsetting an awful lot of people.

    I'm not upset

Some of you who know me from the Pleasures board ,are aware that I am caring for my husband .
He is dying from a very rare degenerative brain disease ,his cognition and memory are completely unimpaired. He knows exactly his predicament
I would just like to say he is now a patient of three hospitals and under the care of at least four community services
ALL with no exceptions, have been caring kind and efficient.
Any equipment, aids that are needed are supplied ( even ones I didn’t know about )
I happily buy Paracetamol,I can’t imagine how much the rest of his stuff costs
We now have hospice involvement too

Please don’t keep knocking the NHS and the Tories ,They weren’t responsible for PFI hospitals or the 2004 GP contract ,both of which have cost the NHS a fortune

I am just saying how we are finding things at this moment
  • To clarify we both are dependent on daily meds for health conditions, we are pensioners and not on a fantastic income, we aren't going to be daunted by anything political we will, as we always have done make the best life we can from the means at our disposal under any set of circumstances that occur. We live under our means, we don't do new, expensive, fashionable or unnecessary we don't and never have had debts because we don't have what we can't afford by saving.
