I'm tjhinking now the prepping for B is going to be a different kettle of fish than I thought. It's looking now more like years of more expensive food
I think for most people this was always going to be the case - bar a few days of panic buying and a prosecco shortage.
A rubbish trade deal inevitably means paying more to the people we trade with. Logistics is a separate issue
Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?0 -

If you don't have a Farm Foods near you, but do have a Sainsburys, they have Princes Tuna X 4 tins for £3.25 at the moment. 81p a tin. Not as bargainous as the Farm Foods offer, but still decent. All types - spring water, brine, sunflower oil.
The standard shelf area was cleared out, but they had a separate special stand filled with them in my local store.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
I have figured out a hitch with this fill your freezer lark. The lads have figured where the ice cream was (alas, briefly) concealed.
Oh yes & my esteemed husband has decided to eschew the home made strawberry jam for "something with more fibre" ie bluecurrant - el supermarket stuff.
If you see a news story about a chap beaned terminally with a sack of frozen red fruit, I may be needing an alibi... Or I may go to farmfoods for a tinned blunt instrument.0 -

Here's a nugget of information from last night's local news. Potentially 50% of the flood hit areas potatoes are still in the ground. I'm thinking this isn't going to make much difference to national supply as Lincolnshire, and (I think) the lower Don & Trent catchment areas are unaffected. Dunno...

Yes the news was featured in the paper today so possible a potato shortage or increased prices on their way, as well as a shortage of seed potatoes for next spring too. Apparently. Russels sprouts and maize are other crops affected.0

Mmmm, might be worth me going to one of the big local farm shops that has advertised 25kg bags of potatoes for £5.50 recently. I've not been tempted so far, as they are Wilja potatoes (which I must admit I've never cooked with before) and storage would be an issue for us. Too hot upstairs, not enough space by the door (our only downstairs space), so would have to be garage. I'm nervous of mice getting in the garage and into the potatoes.February wins: Theatre tickets0
