It,s hard to keep up the storecupboard restocking momentum isn't it, when we seem to lurch from one delay to another.
To be honest, our restocking now is probably aimed at bad weather provisioning and protection against winter illnesses preventing us from going out for a few days so aiming at batch cooking with easy defrosting options in the freezer.
Until we get the General Election results on December 13th I'm not sure much of importance is going to happen. Perhaps we should welcome a brief moratorium , switch off the TV and avoid newspapers for the duration for the sake of our collective sanity. I just want to hibernate for the winter and re-emerge when it's all over.!
I realise now how difficult it must have been for my parents and those of their generation with six weary, dreary years of war, never knowing when it was going to end or what the eventual outcome would be. Seems like we're all being inflicted with the same type of psychological warfare but this time without weapons being fired!0 -

My sentiments exactly, but I didn't really take it that seriously from the start. It was just a sideline to the whole tumour thing. In fact for me Brexit, Trump, the street trees thing here in Sheffield, and Jared O'Mara has been a bit of a surreal diversion. The prepping such as it's been, has been mainly to keep a heathy supply of the stuff I definitely need (toilet roll, paracetamol) and the luxuries I've damn well earned (nice Slovenian red wine) the rest is just adapting my shopping to reflect my mobility to take the burden off Mrs Un and play the rest by ear. Or go with the flow as they say.
Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?0 -
I thought the same, Primrose, I'm reading about WW2 and the Home Front and I was thinking they must have felt like we do about brexit, sick of useless politicians but helpless to do anything.
Re preps I'm carrying on, not slacking now as we have a wee snowflake on our postcode weather forecast for Saturday0 -

Luckily I'm not reliant upon dated medicines eitherEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -

Round our way, you indicate if you are "at home" by displaying a pumpkin. I went off to Scouts & came back to find the house looking cold & empty - but the usual lights & action were behind closed doors & drawn curtains to conceal occupancy.
One of our young leaders had such amazing face paint, her visitors had forgone the sweeties in favour of selfies!
Same around here, and it was the rule that we followed round my parents way on Thursday night (just got back from a visit to them, so we did a brief trick or treating for DD - don't need to do much to keep a 3 year old happy in that regard! lol).
I've grown purple Brussels sprouts this year, but they aren't amounting to much. Their growth seems to be stunted, and I haven't found time recently to give them a feed. They also were under attack by caterpillars for quite some time, despite my best intentions! lol MIL is ever hopeful of a good crop though, bless her!February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
euronorris I find it uncanny that all of the accomplished gardeners on my plots don't like sprouts.0

Hahaha, I don't like them either! I grew them out of intrigue as the seeds came as part of a wonky veg seed box that my parents gifted us last year for our anniversary. MIL loves them though, so if I can rescue them and get them growing again, she will be very happy!February wins: Theatre tickets0
