:D I usually swing by The Daily Ma sh about once a week, it's a perfectly formed parody of tabloid journalism. I like how they have the same cod names for their interviewees and they even interview cats and dogs sometimes to get their side of the story.

I do feel the opinions of household pets, vermin and random critters are under-represented in the mainstream media, don't you?:rotfl:

My cats (now departed, bless them) had a lot of opinions and often talked to me about their views. Sadly I am not that bright and only managed to understand the odd word. Like 'tuna','chicken' and 'lap'. :D I think one tried to start a blog, clearly that's what he was doing with my laptop, I expect he would have had strong views on prepping for Brexit and how to keep his tuna supplies away from the greedy one! :rotfl:

Dare I suggest that some of the so called columnists of various papers are perhaps vermin if not actually random critters?

One recently had a 'haircut' & looked (from some angles) terrifyingly like a well bristled boar around the neck fat area.

That said if you insist on enfranchising the lot, can we not include all those without a full UK passport (yadda - see previous post referencing London.gov) and see how hustings change?!

:D I'd be happy for dogs to have the franchise, even breeds/ individuals from Forn Parts, but I am not at all sure the cats are trustworthy. And I speak as a cat lover...........

Some cats have a way of looking at one which seems to suggest that they're weighing the odds of being able to kill and eat you. A calculating look in the eye, as they rate their 4-5 kg of mass against your 70-80 kg and reluctantly decide they'll let you live on in slavery for another day.

The late Queen of Sheba, parental mog, used to do this. Then she'd twig that the human was giving her a wary look in return and it's almost as if she thought "Cripes, it nearly rumbled me! Better get close up and personal, purr a lot and let it sit between me and an armchair."

To be honest, I'm almost beyond caring any more. I just wish there was a pill I could take which which would send me to sleep and let me wake up when it was all over.
We've become the laughing stock of the world and that grieves me. What grieves me even more is that all these issues should have been debated and argued through two years ago.

I doubt this country will favour any more referendums after this but there is a lesson to be learned. Do your homework first and lay all the issues on the table at the start of the process, not at the very end of the day.

You're absolutely right Primrose, they're like children whose cat ate their homework!
  • We are, unfortunately, where we are and there seems no end in sight to the fiasco of Brexit. I can't imagine Mrs. May and Mr. Corbyn will find any common ground that they or indeed the parties they belong to could or would find that they can agree on so this is likely to be more time wasted whilst the clock ticks inexorably onwards to the 12th of April and the elected MPs of this country continue with their own self appointed feudettes and their journey to self aggrandisement at any cost to the nation as long as they 'uphold their personal principles' and that seems to be put ahead of any loyalty any one of them has to the people who live in the constituencies they are elected to represent. There aren't words that are civilly printable to describe the depth of disillusion I currently feel, the sense of betrayal and the foolishness I feel in myself that I once trusted politicians to have the interests of the common people in their hearts whilst doing the job of Member of Parliament. How I could be so naïve at my age is a mystery. Suffice it to say that I don't feel I could ever trust a single one of them again and that using the vote that is my right under the constitution would be as ashes if I was foolish enough to perpetuate the game of setting them up to make mock of the whole nation.

I will certainly be looking at my MP's performance on this issue in the next general election. Woe betide him if he has not supported his electorates view and vote
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

I hope all MPs will come under renewed scrutiny following this debacle. I find the concept of "safe seats" abhorrent; breeds such complacency and arrogance.
