Well I got some petrol today and received a £5.00 shopping voucher for morrisons (through my petrol loyalty card thing)
I had to buy some ketchup £1.49 But I was really good and resisted buying a newspaper and a snack!!!
BTW petrol at morrisons was 96.9p per litre, cheapest I've seen it around where I live.

    Mortgage-free Glee!
    Still hanging on in there!

Started my new job on Tuesday as planned - all good so far!

I picked up some fresh milk, spinach, baby sweetcorn, apples and two gammon joints to boil up for ham for lunches. I have also made some new bread for OH to take for lunches and for me to take with HM soup (made from the ham stock, some ham, and plenty of veg).

So I will be able to take a flask of soup today.

This means I have spent a further £15 of my food budget.

The challenge is going to be when I have to cook for 9 next weekend!
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

So far so good on the spending front. I was slightly over budget in the first week but underspent a little in the second week.

I made a mealplan for the month, but to be honest things in my personal life have gone a bit pear-shaped recently and I haven't stuck to it at all! Fortunately my OH has been fantastic and has used whatever food he has found in the cupboards/fridge/freezer and managed to come up with the goods for the last week or so.

The bonus is that I still have food left in the freezer that in theory we should have eaten already; I guess he kind of did his own little store cupboard challenge - so spending should definitely be within limits this month which is good news
  • let husband loose in Tesco on Sunday and we spent £134. This should have been nearly two weeks groceries...oops. Will ban him from the shops for the rest of the month. we made a mealplan for the week but we have only had one meal so far. the rest was stuff out of the freezer.

  • Hi there folks, end of my first week & I have spent £56.74 in total, mind you this is without a big T shop, so just butchers, greengrocer & a couple of trips to Budgens for milk & such like. Big shop coming next week so big spend also!

    Happy shopping everyone

Have sold two books on Amazon this week!

Pleased with myself for sticking to the menu planner. I cooked a family favourite which we call Campbells Pasta which involves chicken soup, bacon, sweetcorn, pasta and cheese on top. I made two and have put one in the freezer for another day. Also used the slow cooker and made some savoury mince (basically shepherds pie filling but if I call it that the children say they don't like it!) which we will have for tea tommorow evening and also baked a batch of cakes while the oven was on and put them in the packed lunches for tom! Organised or what!? And I managed all that before rushing out to a staff meeting this evening! :j

Going to Yeovil tomorrow for a spot of Christmas shopping but I have a list and will try to stick to it.

    Good luck all. MBee

Hi. I can relate to that mindset. lol!! My OH says I go round supermarket looking for stuff to buy as opposed to getting what i actually need!!! Well, maybe I did, but that was b4 I discovered this money saving community. I reckon I can beat the budget this month-gonna have to (every month) now I've studied the mortgage and how much interest we will have to pay if it goes full term! OMG
