Afternoon all...
Sorry to hear you didn't get the job MrsMPI'm useless in interviews, so can't give you any good advice, I'm afraid, but try to focus on the good comments they made x
Big blitz today in the middle room and lounge. Even hoovered the plaster panels to remove fine dust from the textured lime!
Managed to get roped into having two brothers over to dinner on Thursday as my boys worked it all out and presented me with a fait accompli.
Still have some bits to do - I must order a new dog bag cover and check the bank aacount, ready to be scared
Cup of tea now though x0 -
Jojo I hope all turns out to be ok with you - it sounds very worrying. As for work - s*d 'em. They've rewarded your diligence and hard work with piling on more work, so let 'em cope for a while and don't give it another thought.
Mrs MP I'm not a "trumpet-blower" either. If someone says to me "I'm better at that than you" I'm most likely to say "yes I dare say you are" and mean it. But you know what? A lot of trumpet-blowers are good at deluding themselves. I remember Mr LW talking about an ex-colleague, who, at interview, claimed to be brilliant at shell-scripting. Well, it turned out he'd probably been in the same room as someone who could do shell-scripting, once.He sure couldn't do it himself!
HB your neighbour has the cheek of the devil if you ask me! Mr LW has a "friend" like that - only ever calls if he wants a favour. Invited himself over to ours for dinner once (I refused to cook, and made the "friend" buy us all take-out - Mr LW was out of work at the time and we were skint so no way was I feeding an extra, unexpected, uninvited mouth). It turned out he wanted Mr LW to invest in some dodgy pyramid/gambling scheme (he knew from years past that Mr LW is something of a pushover). However, he didn't bargain with my Rottweiler DNA.....
I managed to Fly in the front garden yesterday - two buckets of detritus shifted and in the green wheelie, which was collected today. I'm still trying to sort out the utter mess C1ty F1bre made of our front garden when they dug it all up without so much as a by-your-leave recently. :mad:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Me again. I have eaten, washed up, done a quick hoover/sweep through, S&S'd the downstairs loo and dusted the dusty bits in the bedroom. Oh, and collected the car.
I think I would just like to read for the rest of the afternoon before going to a meeting tonight.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Well done, HB. That's the sort of answer I would think of. But always about 6 months too late after I had stewed about the situation.
I am about half way down my list, but only because I have just had lunch. You see if I make lunch really late then my day is longer and I can do more....logical?!
I have cleaned the LR and DR, and the windows are open to let in the air. Unfortunately the washing is hanging inside as it decided to drizzle as I went to hang it out. Obviously it has now stopped but I've moved on from Do The Washing bit of my list.
I have a couple of emails to send, and then I want to get a meal or two prepared for the freezer from the contents of the fridge. Freezer audit needs to happen first to make sure there is room and also to see what needs to be eaten for the rest of the week. I guess I had better get a move on.0 -
More gardening done, I can now 'find' my shrub bed, and it has 6 shrubs in it, now I can see them!Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Just back in so glad I made enough lasagne last night for two nights. I am wrecked, my aftercare charges wanted to play tennis which none of us are any good at so lots of random dashing round the field aiming balls towards each other. the kids might not sleep well but I certainly will.
Need to sew buttons on a baby Cardi I've knitted tonight as I need to take it in work tomorrow
Oh and must post Father's Day card tonight so a walk to post box is on the cards for after tea.
Thank you all for the kind comments re the unsuccessful interview, I've brushed myself down and will carry on doing what I do until another opputinity comes up. Just need a few more hours in the day so I can find some time to get the needed experience lol do any schools do night shift?
Hugs to all xSPC~12 ot 124

Flying 'stalled' again this week, but I have been making home cooked food and saving money on my groceries
Managed to post another fleabay item today. And have an 'offer' to respond to by tomorrow. Also saw that another item has a bid on and finishes over the weekend plus there are a few watchers on other items now. to having to find boxes to put them all in to post them safely.
So what with work and DDs exams (books everywhere) on at the moment we are just about holding it together. Hump day tomorrow, then roll on the weekend for a break:)

Sorry to hear so many of you are having a hard time of it. All fine here, I am home exhausted, last day for this evening's group (mainly 5/6 year old boys) so they were very excited and noisy but to be fair despite behaving badly they did sing very loudly in English in front of their parents so I was very pleased. Cake at work today as it was the last day all together with one of our young colleagues, we will miss her terribly next year. Also not a good diet day as am enjoying a glass of wine and a few crisps whilst DD2 cooks jacket potatoes with bacon and cream filling. Such a treat to be cooked for after a long day I'm just going to enjoy it without feeling guilty. And anyway Head, shoulders, knees and toes repeatedly must burn off calories!
DD2 has made excellent progress with sorting her desk in the playroom so we are definitely going to turn it into a dining room soon. She also emptied the DW (without being asked) so much praise has been given, here's hoping she'll keep up the good work.
Long day again tomorrow but I basically repeat the session I've done today 2 more times so not quite so stressful as I know what to expect, then some primary kids and some teens.
Hugs to all
