Look after yourself and as it says - everything comes round again next week. I tell myself that all the time. X
Everyone needs to take that comment to heart (including me)! But special (((hugs))) to LW, Jojo, Froddy, dancemum, YL, Wish, Fayolle, Dizzy, Narc0 and everyone else who's struggling atm, for whatever reason.
I managed to do everything that was absolutely necessary today, which wasn't much!
Tomorrow I am out at college from 9.30 to 10.00 - that is, from am to pm  It's going to be a looooong day, but I get to work with a German friend for a few hours0 -

Morning all
Hugs to everyone especially those who need them
LW you are most definitely a flylady so stop fretting about that.
Jojo take care of yourself hope dr can get you sorted and back on an even keel again
My interview was apparently very good and the activity I did with the children was excellent with them all fully engaged. I even got bonus points for designing and hand making all my own props and parts for the phonics game I designed. What I did not do is sell myself and blow my own trumpet hard enough and I lack the required experience to be at this time considered for the role of classroom assistant. So I crawled off licked my wounded pride over a cuppa in the staff room then carried on. Its not in my nature to 'blow my own trumpet' I'm a team player who's always believed in praising others and going for a joint approach, I will roll up my sleeves and do whatever needs to be done but I don't then run round telling everyone I did it. don't regret applying, but it's made me feel a bit silly as so many people at work were rooting for me. I'll carry on doing what I do and see if anything else comes up.
Right strong coffee is I think the beverage of the day as I have fullday plus after care club, so I'd better get on.
Have a great day all. XSPC~12 ot 124

Lots of ((hugs)), Mrs MP. It's so hard when you lose out to those who are able to shout about how good they are, and quite often (or maybe this has just been my experience) turn what you have done to being their success as well. It sounds like you did an excellent job with the children which is what you wanted to do. Fingers crossed for next time. We will all be rooting for you, and it sounds like your colleagues will be too. Xx
So I made myself a list last night. What with that and the FL lists, I might surface about midnight. Talk about setting yourself up to fail. So far I have emptied last night's dw, sorted the clean washing and s&s the downstairs loo. I'll be back later...0 -
Well done for being YOU, mrs-mp. I worry about organisations, especially schools, that require all their staff to be of the same personality style - how on earth do they expect children who are great team players but also modest about their own achievements to feel that they are valued?
Today I have already
- unloaded the DW and put away
- S&S'd kitchen (but DH has just made breakfast, so it might need another quick tidy
- done WMx1 and the next load is ready to take downstairs
- done 2 hours' more work on my presentation
- let Rosie out and noticed how quickly my plants that still need to be planted out are growing
- congratulated DH on getting a Dr's appointment today - it was no surprise to me that his railway medical on Sunday showed borderline sleep apnoea
- packed my bag for college, then remembered that I hadn't printed out tonight's handout (I like mine in colour!)
That's all folks, see you late tonight if I am still awake when I get home x0 -
Morning Mrs mp - sorry to hear about the job result and, whilst I agree with all the team work aspects, interviews need some 'trumpet blowing' in my professional role I work with settings that are required to blow their trumpets to attract customers and to do well at inspection.
The format I encourage them to use is
'I noticed' - something needed doing (include evidence of knowledge of relevant policies here too)
'I did' actions- this could include the team work aspect
'This happened' the impact of the actions, if possible include hard data on the improvement of the outcomes of the children.
It never used to come easily to me, but I've had to work so hard to break things down into these clear steps. A good teaching assistant is amazing and worth their weight in gold (or something worth more per weight than gold...) but my best TA ever used her initiative too, and would often come to me saying 'I've noticed this, is like to try this' occasionally it didn't work, but 99% of the time it was awesome.
Good luck with future job hunting.

Morning all. Hugs where needed.
Just a dog walk done this morning after an unscheduled lie in. Need to do the dishes next, check WI paperwork (such an antiquated system), then ironing and cleaning.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
I was wondering if you were okay, Narco, so it's lovely to see a post from you!
If being a classroom assistant were a job where you needed to sell yourself in order to fulfill the role I could understand the criticism Mrs MP. I'm sorry you didn't get it, because the amount of care you take doing everything you do, you'd be brilliant at it. The school has missed out, badly.
Jojo, things sound more than difficult for you at the moment. I really hope that the signed off week gives you time to recoup your strength and get back on an even keel. I think it might be helpful if your boss could tell you in future if you're muddling up your words. It's not normal, healthy behaviour and if she could see you were obviously struggling, even if she didn't realise you were actually ill, she should have mentioned it.
I've had a busy and interesting 24 hours. I planted out another dozen plugs, put some sweetpeas in their final place (must remember to put some sticks in those pots), put six sunflowers in two troughs (instant gardening care of Morribunds), two clematis in a pot in a dire section that needs re-doing, so that's a start, and potted on a winter flowering jasmine that will be lovely just when we really need it. Yellow, too, which is always cheerful. Watered the pots on the front steps, the pear tree, and then the lavenders and roses that a neighbour planted in the communal garden last year that are all dying in the heat. It was all rage gardening, having watered another neighbour's pots.
\rant alert
So, that neighbour invited us for dinner a couple of weeks ago and before we went I said to OH, 'I wonder what she wants. She only ever invites me in if she wants a favour.' Over dinner, she invited us to her 75th birthday party and said she wanted to make fresh pizzas for 30 people, would I cook some for her on the day? Fair enough, not that big a deal, of course I said yes. The party was on Saturday, and on Sunday I came home to find a note through the front door not saying thank you, as I thought it would, but asking me to water all of her plants for the fortnight she's away on holiday.
Do I have MUG tattoo'd on my forehead? Must check, but certainly didn't the last time I looked in the mirror - which I don't very often, admittedly.
Today I composed a note that says:
Dear L, I'm so glad you asked me to water your pots while you're on holiday - it means I can ask you for a favour! Could you take over the watering of the bottom bed? The roses and lavenders that were planted last year are really struggling in the heat, and it would be such a shame if they died. Many thanks, Honey Bear (sic)
I feel much, much better than I did after I read her note.
\end of rant
Now to bake some Ginger Twinks, slow cook a whoopsied brisket picked up yesterday for tonight, and then I can do a bit of flying.Better is good enough.0 -
Well done HB. Hope you feel better after writing that.
I have washed up, made the bed, put recycling out, cleaned my office, done the ironing and some shredding. DH is just heating up some soup for our lunch, then I need to phone the garage to see if my car is ready.
I dropped it off yesterday morning and they only started looking at it at 5pm yesterday.Spend less now, work less later.0
