Maybe some people just care a little more about their appearance than other people do.

Slightly stating the incredibly obvious there! :rotfl:

I prefer a higher score. But that's just me. ;)

Yes, it's incredibly obvious that a lot of people seem content to go out looking like rag-bags.

More power to them, far more important things to be concerned about in my opinion, as long as the right bits are covered who cares?

I happen to like the 'rumpled' look, (my hair too, which is choppy layers). It doesn't mean I've spent any less time or money achieving the look I like, vs the look other people like.

Scrubbing up well to go somewhere nice is one thing - worrying about what you look like when walking the dogs or going shopping is something else. I don't like it when people look like they've made too much effort, particularly when we're older.

    I don't have a dog. :p
I don't dress up to go shopping - if you mean a quick nip to Aldi or Tesco.
If I'm going out for the day with a friend to shop and lunch and socialise afterwards, that's different. At least it is to me.
And I really don't care that you don't like it when people have made too much effort.
As for age, why should people stop caring what they look like?
It sounds like you're on a slippery slope to match some of Jeremy Kyle's guests.

Nice bit of snobbery there. No point worrying about the outside when there is ugliness like that on the inside.

Why is it ok for you to dislike it when you think people look like "ragbags" but it isn't ok for others to dislike seeing others dolled up like a dogs dinner?
