When my 2013 diesel was manufactured, it was exempt from the Congestion Charge for being so green.
Now it's considered badly polluting and will be subject to the ULEZ next year.
Amazing how "experts" change their minds in just a few years.0 -
Like the majority of the population of the UK I don't live in London, have no reason to go to London, never will, don't care. If you want to live in the most overcrowded place in the UK then in order to not die from asphyxiation because of air pollution this is the kind of stuff you're going to have to accept having.
Makes me laugh though that he's bringing this in just to have its benefits more than wiped out by Heathrow's third runway.0 -

Which just proves how London and S.E. centric this country is.0 -
I go to London a fair bit, though it's over 100 miles away. Normally I use public transport, but last time (last month) was to help a friend move her stuff out of storage to a flat in Putney (just inside the South Circular, by about 50 yards) and I took my nine year old Transit, which is Euro 4.
If I had to do that this time next year, I would get smashed with this charge, just for helping a friend on disability benefits that can't drive.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -

Slight exagerration perhaps? A one-off charge of £12.50 is hardly the end of the world.0
