Fed up with workmen now. Got a guy working outside too on the roof as we had some tiles damaged in the gales a few weeks back. He sorted the problem temporarily, but has been back for the last couple of days to do a permanent fix. Last day tomorrow. :j:j
We are very fortunate in that DH is very handy around the house, but he doesn't do much in the way of plumbing and I won't let him go on the roof - way too scary!
Hopefully over the weekend we can start to put stuff in the kitchen cupboards and start to get tidy again although will be out all day with mum tomorrow - feel like I have neglected her this week, only taken her out once for a few hours, so we will take her out for lunch tomorrow and do some shopping, then feel like we can finish the kitchen without worrying that mum hasn't been over the doorstep for ages.
Still need to order kitchen tiles and flooring but wanted to wait until the kitchen units were in to see what they look like in our own light. Sometimes things look different when they are in your own room.

Your leak sounds a nightmare too, so frustrating thinking you have it sorted then finding you haven't. Presume your decorator can't finish until you find out where it is coming from. :eek: Bet you are as fed up as me!

Snd, its been a nightmare dragging on for weeks. In many ways I wish we hadn't bothered but tbh we have been putting it off for a long time and decided to make an effort.

My son is going to get the hosepipe on the window in a bit to see if he has finally got the leak, it was only a small damp patch, about 6 inches wide so really hard to spot where water was coming in.


Decorator back later and the builder should have came yesterday and didn;'t turn up so hope he comes today to finish the door step, he needed some quarry tiles and had to order the rounded edge ones we needed.

I am sick of making cups of tea/coffee really as the kettle is hardly off these days:rotfl:boy these builders/decorators like a brew:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.

Hope you find the floor tiles you like soon so you can get it finished but at least you can clean the units and put things back now.

Yes, we supposed to be in summer but its so cold its more like winter. Really wish it would get better as the sun cheers everyone up.

Got a lovely big hole in the kitchen wall now, where they were trying to access the water pipe to sort the problem out.
Felt so sorry for them as the pipe was certainly not in a place you would expect it to be, nowhere near sink, dishwasher etc. Just typical of the builder who built this house. Sure they did it so that people had problems in the future.

Thats a good idea never thought of that and I have one in drawer :rotfl:next time I make cakes will have to remember that.:T:beer: My oven is obviously not straight as when put anything in oven they all lean slightly to one side :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: only notice when they cooked

CW hope your window leak has finally been fixed and you manage to get rid of builders/decoraters such a pain, hope you got glitched tea bags for the builders :rotfl:

i dont know why all the buns come out roughly the same, just practice i guess, usually i just use a tablespoon and put one dollop in the bottom of each but these were made with the flora liquid stuff from bzz trial which made the mix come out runny so had it in a jug and just poured roughly half full for each case.

SnD kitchen sounds a nightmare but when it is all done and sparkly im sure it will be worth it.

CW leak sounds like a nightmare best things to check are that there is sufficient sealant around between the brick and the window, make sure it hasnt shrunk or rotted. and also check the brickwork close to the leak the cement joints make sure non of the cement has crumbled out as water can get in that way too.

mad day today had lady collecting sofa first thing this morng of ebay and she ended up being here at 11.30 !! wasted my whole morning waiting in but alteast its gone now, room is totaly empty and looks so big and echoy, dont get the new chairs til next thursday as delivery should have been tuedsday this week but they didnt have correct stock to do delivery so got to wait. sure kids will have fun playing in a empty room tho and if weather stays bad at half term im going to put the pop up tent in there so we can go camping lol
