Morning all. Yet another grey morning here.
No water in the house at the moment! DH was really impressed with the workmanship of the guys doing the worktops in the kitchen so asked them to finish putting the wall units up. However, they drilled through a water pipe :eek: as they were about to fit the last cupboard last night. Went to neighbours last night to fill some flasks for hot drinks and got a plumber coming this morning at 8. Got a lovely big hole in the kitchen wall now, where they were trying to access the water pipe to sort the problem out.
Felt so sorry for them as the pipe was certainly not in a place you would expect it to be, nowhere near sink, dishwasher etc. Just typical of the builder who built this house. Sure they did it so that people had problems in the future.
Have a good day all whatever you may be doing.0 -

I bet you can't wait to get your house back. Is the pipe that they damaged going up to the bathroom or maybe a central heating pipe taking the water to the upstairs radiators??:(
We have been doing things for over a month now, workmen in virtually every day.
We now have a decorator in doing the lounge but the leak we thought was fixed isn't so my son is putting more sealant in the pvc window frame. Its just a small leak making a damp patch on the wall near the window. No one can tell where its coming from.:(:(:(:(and its driving us nuts.
Hope nothing else goes wrong for you.

Fed up with workmen now. Got a guy working outside too on the roof as we had some tiles damaged in the gales a few weeks back. He sorted the problem temporarily, but has been back for the last couple of days to do a permanent fix. Last day tomorrow. :j:j
We are very fortunate in that DH is very handy around the house, but he doesn't do much in the way of plumbing and I won't let him go on the roof - way too scary!
Hopefully over the weekend we can start to put stuff in the kitchen cupboards and start to get tidy again although will be out all day with mum tomorrow - feel like I have neglected her this week, only taken her out once for a few hours, so we will take her out for lunch tomorrow and do some shopping, then feel like we can finish the kitchen without worrying that mum hasn't been over the doorstep for ages.
Still need to order kitchen tiles and flooring but wanted to wait until the kitchen units were in to see what they look like in our own light. Sometimes things look different when they are in your own room.
Your leak sounds a nightmare too, so frustrating thinking you have it sorted then finding you haven't. Presume your decorator can't finish until you find out where it is coming from. Bet you are as fed up as me!0 -
Thanks CW - we go tomorrow night, back Saturday after so I could well be missing from the forum for a while!

Have a lovely time jeferey. Really hope the weather improves for you. Freezing cold here again tonight. Can't believe it is the beginning of June in a week!0 -
Good morning guys
