AH - that is a really lovely pressie.

Went over to mum's this afternoon to clear her drive of snow, but she said someone knocked at her door, gave his name and said he lived "down the road" and would clear her driveway so that she could get out if needed.
Managed to find out who he was and went and knocked on his door to say thank you and took him a bottle of wine. He refused the wine and said he was glad to be able to help and only hoped that someone would do the same for his mum if she needed help. He had asked other neighbours if there was anyone elderly that needed their driveway clearing as he felt it was important to keep an eye on the older folks. He wanted to feel part of the community as he has only recently moved in. Just brought a really warm feeling that someone could be so nice.

What a lovely thing to do! :T. It's really nice to think there are still some people about that think about the older generation when they might need help.

It's been snowing here all day, so the long drive that I cleared yesterday has disappeared again! If nothing else, at least it is good exercise. Going a bit crazy though stuck in on my own! Stay warm everyone.

Can so associate Genmod on going stir crazy being stuck in lol Now I know a little bit what its like when people are let out of prison. The things we normally take for granted:(

Anyway, braved the cold & wind to get out with OH. Snowed a bit but not enough to make the situation worse than it already was thankfully. went into town as needed to return some unsuitable items and got OH a couple of new clothes. Practically have to have his clothes surgically removed :rotfl:he so hates getting new things. Glad to say I do not have the same problem:D but didn't see anything I liked.:(

How much was it? I was thinking of putting some of the salt I got as fillers from asda down on my steps, but would need a fair bit I think.

They were £2.99 a bag Blue. I put mine out earlier today, melted the snow and ice no probs - but 10kg deff doesn't go as far as you'd think.

I also saw this on Amaz0n - tiny bit more expensive, but it is delivered to you.

:snow_laugGood Morning. Thick snow here. I don't think either me or my car will be going anywhere today. I don't think it is as cold as it was yesterday/the last few days though.
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

Thanks for the info. I think I jinxed myself talking about getting some salt cos I fell yesterday:o:o My wrist hurts a bit, but I put plenty of deep heat on last night and it doesn't seem as bad today though and nothing a few bevvies won't help as I won't feel it then :D At least with all the snow it isn't so slippy at the moment.

Is anyone interested in any of the following coupons?

    EXPIRY 31st Jan 2013
    Just Milk, 50p
    Saint Agur Delice, 50p
Nakd Fruit & Nut Bars, 30p

    EXPIRY 28th Feb 2013
    Thompson's Family Teas Punjana, 30p

I have a few of each which I got from the BBC Good Food Show and I won't be able to use all of them, seems a shame to waste them.

I am still playing catch up from my Birthday week and have just seen this. You kept quiet about going to the GFS Genmod:p:p How many of the books did you manage to get? Don't forget the half price ticket offer for the summer GFS ends on the 31st Jan. I cannot remember my record for books, think it was a few hundred, so will be trying to beat that this year:D

The last one was yesterday. Went into new M&S in Retail Park armed with coupons... came out all chuffed at saving some money until I saw I had got a parking ticket.

Awe well, bring on the rest of the year!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't usually believe in superstitions connected with the number 2013, but i'm beginning to wonder.

I'll swap you your parking ticket for my speeding ticket:cool: For once my OH was quite sympathetic about my speeding ticket as he could see how I could think the speed on the road was more as it was a duel carriageway. It was a good job he was cos he got caught by a speed camera himself last week. First time in about 20+ years he has been caught.

I'll catch up a bit more later today as I don't wanna give you all too much to read all at once:o:o
