Ah thanks all. Yes enthusiasticsaver I'm definitely going to do a SOA when I can pluck up the courage!
And saying yes to everything, Working Mum, is another one of my goals. I've got to get out of my comfort zone, too often will I just stick with going home and doing nothing. Which really doesn't help with motivation, which of course in turn will help me with tackling my debt.
I'm finding a dull job is killing my motivation at the moment, so looking to change to something busier just to jump start my mind. Then if my courses help me with additional part time work in something I enjoy - bonus!

Hello Dimps - well done you!
I was much the same as you, but after spending so long just fretting about how to pay for everything I chose to do a diary to keep myself on track with, well, sorting my whole life out basically. Like you, I'm office based - my job isn't dull as such, but it does take a great deal of effort to get me going in the morning (Monday to Friday that is). I have debts around £10k, a 16yr old daughter, a few bunnies and a kind of ex-OH (it's complicated - isn't it always!!). I was with Stepchange for a few months but due to a financial emergency where I needed more money than I had - I decided to write to my creditors and tell them I was going self managed. So far had one response back agreeing to reduced payment for six months. I'm sure they won't all like it but so what, it's all I can offer at the moment. I look forward to reading more of your diary.0 -
Hi MeandO
I sway between being completely motivated and ready to beat everything to being completely at a loss of how and when I can do something about it all. Ridiculous really considering I've done the whole single mum stage running around like a mad thing/ holding down a good job/ did my degree with the OU too - now I've actually got the time to do something for myself I'm overwhelmed by it all.
Yes my courses are online ones - only downside to that is I can do it tomorrow and as always tomorrow never comes! When did I get so lazy?!?!?!?!?
Looking forward to chatting again with you over the coming months xx

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

Well I have had another day to think about what I have done...... and same conclusion! I need to sort myself out. SOA is on my list of things to do this weekend along with quality study time. I applied for two jobs yesterday - just to get out of my current one to avoid the dull, demotivating 8 hours I spend in the day. Definitely reduces my motivation to get going when I am home. Onwards and upwards, one step at a time.
My thought for the day as it is pouring with rain here today - it has to rain sometimes to enable us appreciate the beautiful sunshine.
Have a good day all

Right - shopping list written. Weekend plans now include batch cooking and freezing my own ready meals! I need to include that in my budget and know I need to track my spending down the last penny. Having never done this before - it'll be a steep (vertical) learning curve.
Feeling motivated :-)DIMPS
