How does one 'check on the security of an IP address' ??
Since my ISP assigns a fixed IP address to my phone number, I’d imagine they would change it if there was a genuine issue, but it’s beyond my knowledge to assess the possibility.0 -

Your phone number and your IP address are two entirely different things.
Rather than giving these people new material to add to their scripts when they phone people up, you'd do better to just hang up, with the odd expletive thrown in for good measure.0
