    Hi all

Welcome newbies. Baby steps is the way, there is a temptation to think "I cant sort the house, its such a mess, no point trying" but the flylady method really works.

Says me who doesnt really follow the plan any more BUT I do a little every day no matter how long my day has been and how tired I am.

Madly busy at work, doing a 30 hour week plus still involved in job no. 2. However I have a bit more flexibility with my hours now. In theory at least. Have been using the slow cooker a lot and trying to keep on top of the hoovering, dusting, laundry etc.

Washing is out (although its grey), off to get myself into work early but will update personal to do lists before I start. Old and much loved car goes for MOT today and it could well mean that we have to face the expense of another new car.

Hugs Dancemum. I dont have the issues that you do but I fell out with my DS yesterday who is doing too much which makes him ill then he gets grumpy. He refuses to look after himself even though he knows eventually he will end up in bed for three days. I have to let him get on with it because he is 19 and knows best!

Have a good Wednesday everyone x

Kaz - following on from Pigpen's great idea, something a bit simpler, make card eye patches (loads of templates on internet) and write (or print if you're computer savvy) the invitation on the back then folks have to wear the eye patch when they come.

Long day yesterday but main parts of house still tidy, not clean but tidy is huge progress from a few months ago. Also have managed to walk briskly for 30 minutes minimum the last 2 evenings. I have set an objective of walking 30 minutes every evening (or even day) to try and alleviate OH's backache, he sits in an office all day and is overweight so not helping. Hoping a walk will help with aches and pains and help us sleep better. He has accepted the challenge as he knows he only has to do it for a week as then he is away for a week, little does he know that I plan to carry on when he's away and once he gets back.

Off to unload TD and reload WM, then work all day inluding new staff training so should be fun.

Honey glad you are now seeing the end of your journey sorting the house, it inspires me that one day I will get all mine to a level that is maintainable, for the moment I am happy to keep the living room, kitchen and my bedroom/bathroom to a level where it can be made presentable within a couple of hours. Last week at work next week so hoping to have more time.

SMILE everyone, people will wonder what you've been up to!
    xx

    Good morning
A busy day of errands planned, plus a volunteering meeting at lunchtime. More errands this afternoon, then back out again this evening to volunteer.

DH is very stressed at work, which isn't great. I might try to get him to do the same as your OH, Mademoiselle, as DH is also overweight and sits all day. I managed to get him out one evening last week, and he admitted that he enjoyed it. But it was a one off. I need to try harder to keep him going with it, I guess.

Bedding changed and queuing by the wm. We were promised a sunny day today, so I'm hoping the weather bucks its ideas up later.

Kaz - we did a pirate evening, and had printable parrots which we fixed to shoulders to go with the eye patches. Mind you that was with younger girls who decorated the parrots, but hey!

The grass is not cut, but the doglets and me have had a great long walk, and I've tidied DH's wardrobe. Back to the paid stuff now.

I had no intention of watering the pots on the sundeck and in the yard, nor was I going to clip the bluebell patches back this afternoon, but they're now both done. Not a lot else, though.
    Better is good enough.
