I'm here this week, and the plan is great for me as am not working today so planning to wipe out fridge, and go shopping (we had all sorts of lefteover odd meal last week so nothing left at all) and I like the idea of meal planning before I shop. Plus good sort through in the kitchen and hopefully a cupboard or 2 might get sorted.

Also want to walk more to try and boost the weight loss and tone up a bit more.

    Catch you all later
    xx

This week its about the walls, cobwebs and washing walls! Upstairs got a well needed proper hoover moving furniture etc and i feel much better about life now, my room is almost where i want it too, now that it is almost there i would love to decorate it, rented house, saving for own house so im weighing up the idea. Living room is fine, kitchen is ok and bathroom is fine. i say kitchen ok i had to move the outside washing inside so resembles a laundrette at the moment!

Tomorrow I must concentrate on college work, but I will aim to do Level 1.
The best-laid plans of mice and Flyladies often go awry...[nods to Rabbie Burns] DS1 has brought DGD1 to us for the day - she can't go to school because of the 24-hour upset-tummy rule. Fortunately she is good at playing by herself, will enjoy watching DVDs like Blue Planet and won't upset Rosie, and DH has bought a new game about goblins building a mine and collecting treasure which she will enjoy, so I can have some time to myself to do some college work, and might even get her involved in doing Level 1 flying :D

Hi all, I seem to be stuck in the cycle of i need to sort my house and it will wait another day!! Problem is another day rarely comes !!! So id like to join in and try to bring some order to my house and life i suppose. I suffer with depression on and off, i kind of float between good weeks/months to bad ones. I try my hardest to keep up with the bear minimum like washing up, cooking and making sure clothes are washed but on my bad times i just don't see everything else mounting up. so that brings me to the good days, like today where now i can see it all and just don't know where to start. Can anyone give me any hints, tips or advice on how to pull round my mad house of 5 and keep on top of it ???

Afternoon all and a special welcome to Amzwoody :D

No advice from me really, I'm afraid as my house usually looks like a shitpit, always needs hoovering and is mid-restoration following a flood two years ago. I just try my best to keep up with things and if time allows, something off my Toots list. Mainly, I drown under mountains of washing and ironing...anyway...good luck ;)

Actually, I've been a busy bee this morning. Food shop done in two different supermarkets as I had coupons for one, but when I got there, all their frozen and chilled food had been removed due to a power cut in the night, no I wasn't able to get any meat or dairy items....grrr...had to walk across the road to another shop. Walk, I tell you!

    Found a fiver :j
Got overcharged in Aldi but didn't notice until I was home (checkout lad missed the 50% off stickers on some of my meat) Not sure I CBA to complain. Maybe fate sent me the five pound note knowing I would miss out?

DW on, as is the washing machine. I've made a dozen fairy cakes, which look like they're trying to escape the cases as they've risen so well and flapjack mixture is cooling down...

    Need a snooze now...zzzzz....
  • Amzwoody,
A few years ago, 4 maybe. I got signed off work with depression/anxiety/ work related stress it was this time of the year.
One of the things that had slipped was looking after the house. So, one Sunday night I setttled down to watch the French open tennis and wrote the most enormous to do list. I split many of the jobs down into tiny tiny segments, even to the point of :
    Take shoes upstairs
    Take clean clothes up stairs
    Put cups in the dishwasher
    Empty kitchen bin
    Empty living room bin.
    Really really really tiny tasks.
    Hoover xxx

Then, thanks to the French open being shown on itv4 and there being lots of adverts, every time the tv switched to adverts I did 1 or 2 jobs. I couldn't do any more as the Ad breaks are not long.
Over the course of the evening I couldn't believe the dent is made in the to do list. The next day I put a film on and did a couple of Big 'sit down jobs' like the filing of bills etc.

Once I'd broken the back of this two things 'advert length jobs' and 'sit in front of a film' jobs I felt much much better and could tackle some of the jobs that didn't fit into those two categories.

Even now, if I'm very tired I will put something trashy on the tv with adverts and do the jobs I need to do in the adverts.

It might not work for you, but it really helped for me.

My "in-ness" this week will depend upon Honey. Every time I start a task, she brings me a toy, and sits there chuntering at me til I stop what I'm doing and play with her. :D I also have to cook rice and vegetables for her on a daily basis. :o

Natty, hun, we need to change the Scrimpers list to "No Spend JUNE" now. ;) I don't know where this year is going to!

Talking of Scrimpers, and falling off the wagon, Mr LW decided he wants a new video game - cost £35  I told him if he wants it, he gets to pay for it. But we don't have loads of takeaways (actually we never have takeaways as I dislike them), or visit the pub every week or stuff like that, so I guess a £35 video game won't break the bank. ;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Sit down with a cuppa, relax and write a list going through each room of little things you need or want to do to improve it, :) i have this list on my phone and as i do things i delete them off the list, sometimes i think right there’s nothing on the box at 6pm il do some of those jobs now, even if it is simple things like wash the dishes, put clothes away, sort a wash out – you do feel satisfied when the jobs are done, even if it is sort a cupboard in the kitchen, start a pile for out/skip. When i started i started with the living room as this was the room i wanted to be able to relax in :D

    Good afternoon,
Better late than never....please say that's alright or I'm doomed! The week has started as I am sure it means to go on, but I will be in to the best of my abilities. I'm aiming for level 1 when I get back from work tonight, but I also need to do some of the Extras too. Before leaving this morning, I did manage to get the rubbish sorted from upstairs and out for the morning, did QHi (just dented the pile from an overenthusiastic weekend of washing), threw some bleach around the toilets and put the towels in the WM for washing later. I feel a bit better now that I've written that down.

Right, back to work, catch you all later.
