Amazon came into my back garden!

Was hanging washing out today when the back gate opened and in came an Amazon driver saying he was looking for house x ! You can't access the garden from the side of the house - we live in a terrace so you have to go down the alley round the back.
I'm really upset that he did this. Really feels like an invasion of my privacy. I was wearing just a night dress. My daughter is now worried to play in the garden. Made me realize I need a lock on the gate if nothing else.:naughty:

How dare the delivery driver try and find some helpful person to point him in the right direction.

Dont say such stuff in front of your children...
Yoh have made her worried, not the delivery driver.

Whats the difference in having a night dress on and an ordinary dress,
    Nothing whatsoever
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Don't say what in front of my daughter? She was in the garden too and scared to see a strange man walk right in. To me there is a difference between a night dress and normal dress. You don't know me and how I normally dress. I was made to feel uncomfortable so that is a problem. It's not appropriate to walk into an enclosed garden uninvited.

It is disconcerting. I was in my living room one day, looked up and there was a strange man in the garden....I went out (luckily I was wearing OK clothes for once) ... and he couldn't even speak English. I looked at his handheld thing, walked him 6 paces across my garden and pointed to a HUGELY VISIBLE Business Park over the road from me. Tw4t. I got a lock put on the gate then. None of the rear gates here have numbers on, so there's no reason for him to have picked mine except it opened when he tried it.

The lock on my gate isn't to stop burglars, if they're wanting in they'll find it - it's to prevent random people wandering in/out on a whim.

You can probably find one on Amazon.

There is no reason a child should be frightened of a man unless he was doing something frightening. Popping into your garden saying could you possibly help? Should not strike fear into a child.

If you choose to wear your nightdress in your garden then, thats your choice and you cant exactly fuss as Im sure your neighbours can see too.

How disappointing, I thought this thread was going to be about an extraordinary flood insurance claim.

I can understand a wish for privacy, but there can be no excuse for not having a lock on the gate! Better tested by Mr Amazon than a burglar.

Hope is not a strategy :D...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!
