Quite frankly as popular and as great as this site is, it's just not significant as far as the authorities are concerned. Thousands of DDOS and DOS attacks happen every week. How many of those are ever prosecuted? So far I think I've managed to only find one successful prosecution of a DDOS in UK legal history."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Best way is to get something like Zeus or Traffic Load Manager which will prevent DDOS attacks.
Our company was thinking of providing something for free to Martin temporarily to help but looks like its sorted now heh.[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

You might have noticed the name of another company appear once in a while on attempted visits here recently .
Their website has a recent article about Storm Worm botnet ...

I have downloaded the following as you recommended and have some questions: -
Firewall: Comodo (f) I assume this is instead of the windows default one, so I have disabled it.
Antivirus: I use AVG what do you think, my OS is Vista, or is there an alternative free one that is better and uses less space?
Antispyware: Superantispyware (f) I have downloaded this, do I really need all 3 of the one's you suggested, I have also disabled the scan on startup but I take it you can't disable the splash screen in other way as it comes up saying you can only disable it on the paid for version
Misc. maintenance: CCleaner (f), Yep all hunky dorey
I think I have everything covered.

Comodo: I assume so, I don't have Vista
Antivirus: personally I had no specific problems with AVG but I know others have their own preferences and would advise either Avast or Antivir (free versions)
Antispyware: yes it is worth having more than one as one won't catch everything so you're best getting a combination. Make sure superantispyware isn't in the startup folder in all programs on the start bar. It shouldn't load anything of it at all at bootup but it won't do you any harm (I had them disabled becuse I have quite a lot of stuff already at boot up and if you have more than one antispyware program it can slow down the pc if you have more than one actively running all the time). I can't really remember any of the options, been a while since I installed it, I just basically make sure anything that relates to boot up says no.
ccleaner: I'm glad, my ONE piece of advice for this program is that whenever you run it and it asks you if you want to save a copy of the registry ALWAYS say yes. Better safe than sorry if anything goes wrong and you want to go back before it tried "fixing" the registry."She is quite the oddball. Comodo is not compatible with Vista yet, the only free one that is that I am aware of is Zone AlarmIt's my problem, it's my problem

Bill - No, I have subscribed to the newsletter so they let me know when it is. I hate Zonealarm I always have problems when I install it on my PC's.
Superscraper. - I have done CCCleaner which found loads of stuff. I admit though I said no on the save registry thing. Next time I will say yes then, balthough I wouldn't know how to reinstate it . None of them are in start up, but Superantivirus wotsit said that I can't stop the Splashscreen.TopCashback £1792.63My Little World0 -
