. He said he could remove the pipe and connect it to a waste pipe which is already on the same wall but he would have to check with my neighbour first.

Did you ask if he could remove the flue too? :)

No. Wouldn’t that mean moving the whole boiler ?

Yes but that would be his problem not yours.
If not done now it could become your problem someday.

Yes, but it's necessary. See my posts #28 and #33.

I cant work out from the pics if the flue would be on the ground floor but assuming it is, then how near is it to your windows/house/car parking area.

IN winter it might be doing this every few minutes

Free heating for the OP's upcoming garage or extension! And condensation, of course.
  • I have just spoken to the installer who was back at my neighbours house and I complained about him entering my property without permission and asked him about the pipe and whether it complied with building regulations. I also said I was worried about damaging the pipe by driving over it. He said he could remove the pipe and connect it to a waste pipe which is already on the same wall but he would have to check with my neighbour first.

Oops....I'd have been rather more "firm" in your position I must admit. I'd have said "You don't need to check with the neighbour re the bit that's on MY land - I'm telling you it's going right now. The only checking-with-the-neighbour you do is to do with any part of this that's on THEIR property".

I might be wrong but I'm getting the impression that the OP doesn't really want to tackle the neighbour on any of this. You've pointed out the rather soft approach to the installer and OP has not responded to any of the posts about the flue being incorrectly installed and the boiler needing moving.

OP, if you are concerned about raising this with your neighbour, people on here can help by pointing you to the right places for guidance on what is permitted and what is not. It needs a friendly but assertive approach. It will be much easier to address this now than in years to come when you want to undertake work there or are trying to sell your house and your purchaser starts asking questions about the neighbour's flue, because it WILL come up on a survey.

Also it could be that the neighbour has no idea that anything is wrong with the position of the flue or condensate drain.

if it on your land, its your property and you have to maintain it or allow periodic maintenance visits.looking at the photos it will need many.

That soakaway is not suitable for vehicle traffic, not suitable if in clay soil and other reasons include water courses.

    Neighbours,got to luv them !
