Hi All
I'm trying to get my wifes PPI payments that she made on her M&S card, now I've followed the normal letters etc, but now M&S are saying that becuase the card was taken out in 92 that they weren't regulated so tough!!!
Now I have asked them the following, when the original M&S card was converted in to a full credit card they must have been regulated and also I've asked them to forward my complant to the insurers that provided the actually PPI cover. They have ignored those two questions.
Anybody had any luck with old m&S ppi????0 -

Hi there
So annoying when this happens isn't it?
Who was the actual insurer for M&S card?
I would personally write to the insurers myself if you can, and if they also ignore by 8 weeks, then move on to the FOS anyway.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

What you need to do is write to M&S Card and ask them to send you a copy of the insurer policy details, they must send you these on request.
Ask that they send you this by 7-14 days maximum, and post by recorded delivery to ensure it reaches them.;)
If they don't do this, you could always contact the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) and see what they may suggest for you.

Good luck, please let us know how you get on.

Some advice needed : I took a car from Yes Car Credit back in 2003 & as with alot of others was basically 'forced' into taking out the PPI ( You cant have the finance without the Loan Protection etc etc ) Now i have since paid off this car & then i found out about the mis-selling of PPI so, sent a letter to Direst Auto Finance telling them that i feel that i was mis-sold & then basically sent back a 'Tough, we were not regulated at the time so, what are you going to do about it' letter, so, i sent off an SAR & got back all of the relevant documentation then i complained to FOS, ICO, Trading Standards & FLA without much help. I even went through a claims company ( No win, no fee ) but when they found out that i had paid off the finance for the car i was dropped like a hot potato! So i guess the only thing left to do is to take them to court?'Dont Bury Your Head In The Sand As Your Problems Will Still Exist'

I was in a similar position with my car loan (taken out in 2003 with volkswagen financial services). They weren't regulated at the time either, so I took them to court and won!! Moreover, I claimed interest at the same rate as on the car loan (13%) rather than the lower 'statutory' rate of 8% and I won that too!!
Going to court sounds scary - but it's a relatively straight forward process - if you need any help, feel free to send me a PM.:AIgnorance can be cured, but stupid is forever!:A

My husband has been claiming PPI on a credit card as he was medically retired-he still pays the monthly insurance. Is this correct?I thought I had read somewhere that it stopped- if you were claiming0
