Something similar happened within my extended family. Whilst amusing to look at from the outside (akin to a Dallas/Dynasty event). It has resulted in children not speaking to their father, sisters falling out and a very unpleasant atmosphere all around. As others have said, get a grip and don't go there.

Try thinking of her as your sister instead of your sister-in-law.
Maybe that would help you put things back into the right perspective!

It's when you're going through a bad lonely patch that you particularly need to keep yourself on the emotional straight and narrow. That's usually when all these messy relationship problems start to occur because people behave out of character.

Perhaps join some kind of social or new hobby group and try to widen your friendship horizons. It may save you an awful lot of emotional trouble in the long run.

Don't even consider anything until both of you are absolutely 100% totally single. And even then tread with caution and expect to upset people.

    Lordy! Lordy!

    I missed that bit.

I wonder what sister-in-law's husband thinks about this cosy little arrangement...

How about you start looking at her with the eyes of a stranger? I'm looking and I'm see a woman, who is prepared to not only betray her husband, but also her sister. She doesn't care about the impact it will have on them, two people she supposedly love, she is selfish. Well, she'd say she care but can't help herself, so really she is a hypocrite and weak. She'll come up with excuses, so she is shallow. She can't say no so she lack control and integrity... I could go on, but without looking at her physically, she comes across as extremely ugly.

    Can't you see that ugliness?
  • It's funny that you said you have never looked at her in that way before but now she's practically offering it to you on a plate you can't stop thinking about her. Like someone else said I think we know what part of your body you are "thinking with".

Nothing wrong with the attraction Itsnot.

Thing is, she is spoken for, regardless of how they may seem to be not getting along.

There are people out there (men and women) that want an affair and suggest to onlookers (those they want to affair with) that their relationship is done for, and then go home and continue their legitimate relationship.

Perhaps one way forward is to go out with someone else - will shake your emotions about and give you a different focus.

Just think, if you married her your ex wife would be your sister in law. Now thats screwed up.

Mind you, not half as screwed up as a friend of mine posting a picture on Facebook. His Grandson was holding his newborn baby Son.... Still cant get my head round it.:o

What an archaic phrase to use. :(
