So - have been watching this item ( and others like it , to get price perception ) they usually sell for 120 - 130 pounds , watching avidly for last 10 minutes ,stuck at 81 - countdown down to 10 seconds , finger poised ! bid in last 4 seconds - BINGO !!! Mine at 85 of your Earth pounds ....BARGAIN !!!:j:money::T:rotfl:
5 Seconds later Ebay Seller Message " sorry just noticed something wrong with item "
another 5 seconds later notice of Ebay Cancellation
I am not even allowed to leave Feedback - seething !! - obvious to me that seller was not happy with price and just wriggled out
After nearly 17 years of buying and more predominantly selling I have all to often sold things that didnt reach what I wanted , but I have never pulled that stunt - gobsmacked that they can do this and not even have to worry about a mention in Feedback

You're lucky. I got totally ignored by one seller - bought her item for 99p (plus excessive postage charge) and she of course never sent it. She ignored my message asking if it was going to be sent, and never even responded when I opened and won a case for INR and left her a negative.
Like you, I have sold items for less than expected/desired but them's the breaks and the customer deserves the item they have paid for...it's not their fault I never listed it for a higher price!0 -
Yes thems are the breaks - but at least you got the chance to leave Feedback - probably explaining that you were not a happy bunny
- I was not even asked if I agreed to cancel the sale and no opportunity to leave any FeedbackAs Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question !

Surely the Seller must face some consequences though - otherwise it would undermine the whole Ebay experience for everyone ,if sellers just could cancel any sales, that they were not happy with the end price of ?
yes Im still seething !!:cool:As Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question !

You used to be able to report a non-performing seller....not sure if you still can.0 -
When you say 'five seconds later' does this mean that the seller cancelled just before the auction finished? Because surely they can't cancel after the auction finished.0

I took it to mean buyer bid in dying seconds of the auction and seller cancelled almost immediately after auction ended.
Have had this happen on more than one occasion, its so annoying .0 -

No the Auction had ended - they must have started cancellation procedures and sending me the no sale message literally as soon as it finishedAs Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question !

Absolutely ludicrous, and if there is still an option of reporting a NPS, I definitely would...a pattern of this behaviour would surely mean eBay pull the plug on that seller's account.
Set a reserve or BIN if you don't want to risk a lower sale price...hardly rocket science.0 -

I am in exactly the same situation you were in. Won an item at auction, after a week of no show emailed the seller who has completely ignored me. Opened a case against them and now in two minds as to leave them negative feedback.0 -

What is there to think about? The only thing I do before leaving a neg in this situation is check their activity...if they've been inactive, I give them one final message in case for example, they have genuinely been ill or someone has died. If they've been busy on eBay in the period I've been getting blanked, it's a red rag to a bull and I will neg. I've only done this once but I would do it again if happened another time. I also leave a 1* for communication but don't give the other DSRs.0
