I thought it was 2 weeks? Or is that just a speeding ticket?

All summary offences are six months.

Speed is a summary offence, right?

If a car is caught speeding, the registered keeper will receive a Notice of Intended Prosecution (NIP) detailing the offence, and a document called a Section 172 notice. The police must serve an NIP within 14 days of the alleged speeding offence.
Or is that simply delivering the NIP? Once the NIP is delivered they have 6 month to act upon it?

A NIP may be delivered verbally. It was done in this case. They then have 6 months to instigate proceedings. A court case may be longer than 6 months after as long as proceedings were started in time.

Yes, most motoring offences are summary.

The first NIP must be served within 14 days, unless you are stopped at the time.

You’ve had one if you read it, it clearly states they are considering doing you.

As I said a NIP may be delivered verbally. There is no prescribed wording. It can be simply "mate you may go to court". You merely have to be made aware a prosecution is possible.

Try convincing a court they didn't say something when they stopped you.

There is a prescribed wording but he has it in writing, so he can’t argue.
