I've been wanting to open a Classic Plus account for some time, but can't do so in branch or online. I can't help but feel that I have dodged a nuclear warhead now.

I made a pre-emptive strike, once I was eventually able to access online, withdrew all the funds from two current accounts and closed them. Also closed a zero balance savings account that I had somehow "inherited".:shhh:

Haven't had any money go awry but I've had my card declined a few times for no good reason over the last couple of days. Seems to be hit and miss as to whether it will work.

I was in the queue at TSB today to ask about it when all their systems went down. Tempted to switch for the second time in a year but the deals aren't great for me at the moment

Who can say. These forums can fill the world with angst sometimes, but not always the case for everybody. I suspect there are quietly a large number of people without issues.

(Cue a large number of people saying I work for TSB).

The app seemed to be dodgy this morning so I went into a branch (as I was passing anyway) to check my balance. The teller said to delete and reinstall the app.

Haven’t yet as I’m not at home but it’s working again.

I have lots of sympathy for the staff who are dealing with irate customers. I have had only minor issues, no inconvenience and loss or fees.

For the purpose of balance, here is the extent of my problems with TSB:

    1) I tried a couple of times to call them about a non-urgent matter, but was still on hold after 20-30 minutes, so gave up - I'm waiting until things get back to normal before trying again.
    2) My access during the first 2 weeks after the upgrade was very patchy. Occasionally I could log in, but frequently my session was terminated after just a few seconds and on trying again I was told my security information was incorrect when I knew it wasn't. At the same time, I was unable to log in on the app - attempting to log in led to me being forced to reset my memorable information.
    3) Early in the month, I found I could not view any of my old credit card statements, only my recent transactions via online banking. By this time the app was working and my workaround was to use the app instead.
    4) One faster payment I made took 4 hours to be received into another of my accounts instead of the usual seconds. Other FPs and internal transfers wnet through fine. No issues with any of the dozen or so card transactions I made since the problems.

A number of aspects are slightly frustrating, but nothing to get hot under the collar about, or to demand copious amounts of wonga.

I too have only had minor inconveniences. Mainly over not knowing that my CC DD would be taken OK, which it did, but can't access statements still.

Interest all credited Ok in May, and I was able to transfer it out. So I've got my fingers crossed that it doesn't get worse.

However, these are not our main accounts, and I do feel for the "ordinary" customer, who uses them as their main account, and who have been majorly effected by this debacle.

    * By ordinary, I mean not us MSE'ers just using TSB as a "high interest savings" account, with lots of other accounts/banks to call upon if funds needed.
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

She's a little better. The doctor's given her antibiotics and some cream for it. I think it will be a while before she forgives you though. She's had a few of partners since you and she's got to call them and let them know they should get tested too.

Seriously, what are you going on about?
