Extra Energy excessive bill
My annual dual fuel bills are at max £1200-over the last several years a constant £1000 with various suppliers
I changed to Extra Energy in April 2017 - and my use for a year is £2700:eek: -is that even possible for a small 4 bed mid terrace?
Despite the cold weather i used my central heating in the same timed way as before.I just can't figure out how the bill has jumped 125%
The Smart meter was supplied by eon several years ago - but i have changed suppliers many times.
Do you think the smart meter could be faulty ?-i recall a friend of mine didn't have one fitted because he claimed the meters were giving excessive readings-i thought it was just a scare story.

Just because you turned the heating on and off this year, does not mean you will use around the same amount of energy. Your heating will take longer to reach the thermostatic temperature and water will take longer to heat, due to the extreme temperatures we have had.
That said, I doubt that would double your bill.
Smart meters, like any other meter, can go faulty, but, if you believe the industry, it is extremely rare for a meter to develop a fault.
Have EE used estimated readings anywhere?0 -
What is your usage in units?
All the amount tells us what you've paid/been asked to pay.
Have you submitted meter readings to them? Smart meters work with the supplier who provides it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards. Have you been reading your meter at least every month and sending your readings off to EE.
What do your EE bills say - are they Estimated or Actual ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
