Just to remind you all that my husband did not at any point give out any personal details they were able to tell him what his last transactions were so it is obvious that this is a TSB issue as they already had access to his personal information and transactions. You are correct in the fact he should have not called the number provided but the 6 digit code that the fraudsters provided him with should not have been enough for them to gain access to his accounts. TSB has failed to keep our money safe hence why we are no longer customers. As you have all said I am going through enough and I'm pretty sure that my husband has had alot on his mind. If TSB was not in fault then we would have not been issued a refund plus this would not have happened to so many people in the same way. This is a breech of TSB security systems.
I disagreed with takman's earlier post because I felt it was unneeded at the time, but following your recent post he is quite correct in what he's said.

I doubt you will find many people on here that think, from your description, that it was actually a TSB issue - if they did, everyone would be leaving them, which they're not.

For your own sake you should look into the reasons why something like that can happen (i.e. phishing which takman mentioned), otherwise no matter which bank you're with, you could be vulnerable in future.

Not at all. There are ways of finding out someone's recent transactions and it would add plausibility to a scam to 'inform' the [STRIKE]victim[/STRIKE] mark of what their recent transactions were in order to build up confidence and trust.

The bottom line is that you should never give out security details / OTP codes to anyone over the phone.

TSB have refunded the money not as an admission of 'guilt', but because they are required to do so and/or as a gesture of goodwill.
