wizzywig27 unfortunately it was directed at me as the comment clearly says she and they would not put that otherwise. Thank you for the well wishers and just an update TSB has now blocked my Husbands account so he can not switch to another provider!!!!

If your the Gina from the story then it's probably a good thing you husband has his account blocked, atleast he won't fall for anymore obvious scams and lose more money!.

And perhaps takman needs his forum account blocked, so he doesn't make any more completely needless and highly insensitive posts.

Her husband rang a unknown number from a text message and gave them codes sent to him from his bank to allow them to transfer money from his bank.
If everyone makes out he did nothing wrong then he will be more likely to make the same mistakes in the future.

There's a subtle difference between not "making out he did nothing wrong", and unnecessarily being a jerk who says 'good thing his account is blocked'. I'll let you work out which one you're doing.

Personally I don!!!8217;t think mchambers meant it the way the it was taken. As highlighted above there are numerous posts made by him where he refers to TSB as being ill/sick.

Regarding other comments, I will say that although MC does post stuff, there are a lot that jump onto this as soon as he posts. But at the same time he probably doesn!!!8217;t care.

I prime example of the !!!8216;picking on!!!8217; is when someone actually reported myself and Mchambers as we were !!!8216;related!!!8217; - even though we are not (and even if we were, so what?)

Same here. It's bliss having the MC nonsense automatically ignored :)

Her husband allowed an unknown third party to take his wife insurance payout because he gave then the security code sent to him by his bank. I'm sure his wife was going through enough stress already without him doing that. So if anyone's a "jerk" it's definetly not me!.

You say you recognise she's going through enough stress already, yet you're the one making unnecessary posts at her saying it's a good thing TSB blocked his account to stop him falling for "more obvious scams". Extraordinary.
  • Just to remind you all that my husband did not at any point give out any personal details they were able to tell him what his last transactions were so it is obvious that this is a TSB issue as they already had access to his personal information and transactions. You are correct in the fact he should have not called the number provided but the 6 digit code that the fraudsters provided him with should not have been enough for them to gain access to his accounts. TSB has failed to keep our money safe hence why we are no longer customers. As you have all said I am going through enough and I'm pretty sure that my husband has had alot on his mind. If TSB was not in fault then we would have not been issued a refund plus this would not have happened to so many people in the same way. This is a breech of TSB security systems.

Only a handful of people have been reported to have been scammed out of money with TSB accounts which isn't unusual as these scams are happening all the time. If there was really a breach in TSB's systems then there would be thousands of incidents happening.
I think you were just lucky that you got a refund because they wanted to avoid any further bad publicity.

They could have got access to your husbands account using phishing where a fake version of the TSB website for example was presented and log in details were given to the fraudsters without realising.
Gina, who is in her 30s and asked not to give her full name

This is a good idea, but you have registered on this forum and chose your full name as your username when it could have been anything.
Your husbands Facebook privacy settings need changing ASAP because its open to anyone to see what he has been up to recently and where he lives. This could then be used to search the Electoral Register for your address. A google search also shows other information which would have been useful for this scam.

So there is plenty of personal information out there even if he gave none out.
