Money Moral Dilemma: Should I charge my flatmate for eating my leftovers?

I have to admit I don't see the point of these MSE MMDs - to me they're nothing more than click bait but.......there was one on the employment board a few weeks ago which (imo) was the usual daftness but someone posted on there that this was their problem.
However surely a more considered response could be given if the originator of the MMD posted themselves as usually these things aren't a black and white situation.0 -
If you want to p*ss off your flatmate then yes, go ahead and charge them.0

Does your a--e squeak when you walk as you're so tight?
If you decide to do this tightwad, I hope your flat mate decides to charge you for having to clear out your fridge every time you go away.
Why do you keep going away and leaving food that will go off in your fridge? Not very organised are you.0 -
I have never heard of this in my life!!
I wonder how much leftovers go for these days.
you must be taking the mick surely..............0 -

Tell me this is a joke?! Thank god I don't live with you!
'I tell him to help himself and then I expect money' you joker!0 -
You don't say whether or not you are going away at short notice. If not then you should be more realistic when you're shopping and don't buy stuff you're unlikely to use. In any case, you're offering the food to him so doesn't seem fair to expect him to pay for you over buying. Sounds like it happens often so maybe buy less at a time and shop for more when you need to.0

What an utterly stupid "dilemma". With every passing week the dilemmas get more ridiculous.0

If he chooses not to eat it he could charge you for his services of disposing of it from the fridge in order to avoid a healthy and safety issue? :rotfl:0
