I've tried to raise awareness in my sig.....

....but maybe not that many people read sigs.
  • Thanks for the updates folks.

This must be very frustrating for you.

It's clearly happening to several of you in a range of browsers and forum versions.

Can you please try previewing first as mentioned above and see if you're able to sort it that way?

It's not ideal at all, I do understand that.

However, the future of the Forum and the platform we use (the underlying software) is a key piece of work for MSE at the moment. We wouldn't focus developers' time on something that's only happening for a few of our 1.75 million forum accounts if we're going to be overhauling the Forum software in the next six months.

I'm sorry we can't give better news on this in the short term but in the longer term it will be resolved.

    Andrea :)

Probably not related at all but I get the same double line spacing problem when copy and pasting from gmail into Facebook, using Firefox.

And yes Dave, I read your footer post!

I'm getting the same on the green version using Firefox on here. I'm so used to editing it out it's become normal!

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I've been tolerating this double spacing thing since I started posting late last year. I have been fixing a lot of my posts in preview or re-editing them afterwards but I decided to have a search to see if there was a fix and this thread popped up.

I've seen it on loads of other folks posts too so it is quite common, I suppose it may not bother others as much but I too don't like the wasted page space (and don't want to look like I've got a return key fetish!).

I'm quite computer illiterate at the best of times, but I've got a blue header and use Internet Explorer if that helps....

    Cheers :)

It would appear so! Would've thought it was a simple fix, like paragraph line spacing in Word is just a click-box thingy, but like I said - I know hee-haw about computers.

  • Hi folks

Thanks for your patience with this.

As you know, we are aware but we need to prioritise our time and while I know this must be frustrating for you, as it isn't preventing you posting we need to focus our time and resource on other areas at the moment.

    Thanks again for your patience.
