My little one is going to be 6 and we have got the bundle with G-Force which is a 7+ one. Only got him this as he has seen the film and loved it and said if he ever had a DS (I always say he is too young) then he would want that game so I have reluctantly bended my usual(always stick to the age range)rules!!! He will be so shocked and suprisd on his birthday!!
I don't really have any advise for you regarding the Pre Owned DS, you might need a new thread on the Techi board for that?
You could always get a new bundle and sell the game on ebay then buy 2 cheaper ones?

No sorry it wasn't a DSi, just a red DS lite bundled with accessorie kit and G Force.It looks like they don't have it online now but they may still have it instore, it was the same price instore when I looked last week but my Game store were out of stock but more stock was on its way so either keep checking or check/phone your local store.
