    Letter from taxman
    • You told us you didn't need a tax return for 2017-18
    • We agree and withdraw the return
    • We will CANCEL the penalties we charged you for not filling in the return on time

    YAY.
Was a bit worried about that, and it made no sense when the only thing that there is any question about on the tax front is my mileage!

Well home for the weekend. Very tired now. Drove back last night with my favourite music on and the window down!

    Good weekend though.
Saw 4 friends and my dad. That went okay. He threw a diggy comment in at the end but it's fine. The message I wanted to get through to my brother was that I'm available if you need support with the old man.

Having a vegan tea. A Jack Monroe mushroom risotto and Alpro with blackberries after. Is wine vegan? Not sure. :T

I have been given a book of Greta Thunberg's speeches by the Pub Landlord. He was going to send it to two 'ex-friends' of his who have been too obnoxious and too sanctimonious as a dig. But decided he would give it to me instead as I might appreciate it.

What can I say? It is....
    • Impressive
    • thought provoking
    • terrifying
    in equal measure

So I have planted trees for my last trip to/ from Vietnam. I will also have to do the same for the trip in March 2020 to Krakow as work will not give me any more time off. I have booked an extra 3 days for the trip to Spain in September so I can do it by train- I am using the website The Man in Seat 61 for that trip and will stop in Paris and Barcelona en route. Should be good!

One of my favourite members of staff is leaving work at the end of this month. She doesn't even work in my office (the work one obviously - not my home one :rotfl:!) I ring her when I'm having a !!!! day and need cheering up and we make each other cry over the phone.

Think I am going to have to live up to my threat and get my CV up to date. Think I will run it past two people over the holidays and get it up on Linked In. Workload is too heavy, work is too isolating and I am losing focus and can't see the wood for the trees.

In good news mortgage still has 12 years to run on it and continues to drop. Gives me some room for options.

Think you maybe mean only 12 years left to run?

    You are correct Beanie.
I have also just received £99 for my first solar panel payment. Perfect timing!

Now planning on going on a trip to Morocco in June. It's with the same company I went to Cambodia with.

Unfortunately /fortunately * delete as applicable I have decided after reading Greta Thunberg's speeches that I can have one return flight a year (which I shall carbon neutralise (although there is some debate about whether you should be trying to change behaviour rather than mitigate it!!!) with some trees).....and will try to do all travel by much more planet friendly means.

    So,
Car sharing to Norfolk in January
Return flight :eek::eek: to Krakow in March
Eurostar to Amsterdam for a weekend with the pub in April
Eurostar /TGV/ferry/train to Marrakesh in June
    Eurostar/TGV/train to Andalucia in September.

Maybe I shouldn't travel quite so much. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
The organiser of the trip to Morocco has told me they are all staying for an extra day and coming back on Sunday morning. This is good news as this means I will have company for the Saturday and a certain element of safety and can get the overnight train (single berth) to Tangier on the Saturday night, train to Barcelona on Sunday and back to St. Pancras on the Monday.

Right, need to write cards and pack up pressies for posting now :A

Had an invitation for Christmas in California next year. Going to have to look at finances, holidays assess how I am going to do it. I think I'm deciding whether I am doing Morocco or USA. The accommodation cost for USA is pretty much the same as for the whole Morocco holiday.
