Shez.... My recipe for corned beef hash doesn't look as exciting as Mrs McCawber's but it is very quick, cheap and tasty.
Cube some par boiled spuds and mix with cubed corned beef....add to frying pan with softened leek and fry gently. If it looks too dry add a cup of stock. transfer to oven dish and press down firmly. Add a dash of worscester sauce and make 4 little wells in the top. add raw eggs to the wells and bake in oven until eggs are set.
serve with baked beans and brown sauce!!
It works better if you stick the tin of CB in the fridge for a bit so it doesn't disintegrate in the pan.0 -
Good Afternoon All
Thank you for your concerns regarding DS. After reading your posts, I called the police. Just as I thought, there's not a lot they can do without the vehicle reg number, but it has been noted as a road traffic accident, only because DS had sustained injuries! If he hadn't received any injuries, they wouldn't have bothered. Anyway, in the mean time, Ive rung our local counsillor, and left him a message, regarding traffic calming (as we've previously spoken about it & nothing's been done) but I said on his answer machine, that my DS actually got knocked over, and I wont sit quiet untill something is done! I await his visit/call.
WM & TD working over time.
Still not got a clue what or how to use the chicken breast for dinner.
Dlb - enjoy the silence!
DD has just got dressed. She's been in her p'js all day!
Right, will try & sort out dinner
Bye for now

Hello everyone
Emma I'm glad you reported it at least it might help with the traffic calming
well as you can see I'm back from the hospital unfortunately it's not good news I have to have an op on my knee within the next 3 months there's a 50/50 chance that nothing can be done the ortopedics have said the arthritis has got in there they may be able to do a little to it to help aleviate the pain but not to hold out much hope but hey I'm not going to dwell on it now I will wait and see what happens and take it from there
going to empty the wm and put some dinner on
see you later
pam xxI didn't say it was your fault, I said I was going to blame you

Evening all,
Welcome back Smoky...missed you
Congratulations Olliebeak and family...DD should stay where she is until they throw her out..when I was having babies 37-26 years ago they kept you for 6 days with first and 5 for subsequent births...can't be good for new mother to go home and get back into housewife mode straight away....and this is progress??? Right!
Hester, sorry to hear that you had a panic attack...unpleasant, trust that you are well now.
Crazychik...I think that you should definitely report that driver to the police, with whatever details you have, too much carelessness around.
Clairefun and Dorry, welcome back
Csarina...some work to do with the Buckets I think. Its amazing the number of people who have no idea where their money goes and who just keep spending even when its gone! If anyone can sort them out I reckon that you can.
Mrs McCawber...that hash sounds lovely. Have a tin of corned beef which is probably out of date, but will use it one of these days when there is just OH and me, will use frozen peas, as have yet to find tin of peas which I found palatable.
DLB...enjoy the silence...wonderful isn't it?
JackieO, Mioliere and family, special hugs.
Hugs to everyone else , ages since I read first 2 pages, hope that today has been a good day for everyone

Hi Guys!
Was feeling a little rough yetserday so didnt post:o but feeling a little more human today...I think!
Was so bored through the night, I sorted some stuff for Ebay and today have sold over £200:eek:    ...I put 47g of scrap gold on and within 20 mins I was offered £130 but haggled up to £160 plus postage, then I sold 2 books through Amazon and 2 small folk art ornaments that I had laying around. That brings October over £350:D...well pleased! OH has said that I can treat myself to a particular piece of jewellery (not the whole £350:p )I have been after as I wasnt expecting to get that much for the gold. Also have a few other bits on which were too good for scrap, so abit more there me thinks.
Must do a mealplan for next week tomorrow.
Cleaners came today so house is clean and tidy. WM has been on twice today and the DW will go on before we go to bed. DD has also sorted a bag for the charity collection tomorrow.
DD off to Bluewater tomorrow with her mates. First time really, but I dare say OH will be hoovering around in the back as shes only going for 2 hours but has a small list of stuff she wants.
Anyway, hope everyone is well.
Hugs to all.

Hi Everyone
Yes, well have read things today but the problem at work means I can't post plus I was there until after 6.00 pm tonight. Luckily a member of staff attended a course from my home town so was able to phone DH to say don't collect me at 6.15. He was pleased as I know a burden on him. I can't wait to drive again.
I am sorry to hear about all sorts of trouble- back, teeth, joints etc and especially son's getting knocked over and other illnesses.
Just going to watch Alan Johnston - a moving story I think.
Welcome to our new baby - yes, well, they get turfed out very quickly other than our day when we had salt baths!
Have been to the nurse for huge blood checks for doctor a week on Tuesday.

Evening all - went straight to bed with a headache when I got in but middle dd started sending me frantic texts. She is looking after little dd and forgt to get anything veggie in, went to the bank to get some money out and left 20 quid in the machine. She's just been round for my last 20 and a raid of the cupboards - in my weakened state I have let her take the hagel slag that ddad brought over and various other goodies - she sniffed at most of the contents of the cupboards stating that it all looked too wholesome and a bit like hard work but has taken some pizza and psta out of the freezer which has meat in it so I won't miss that
I have given up on the head ache now and will justhave to get on wth things
Lovely to hear from some "old" people again - some of you are new to me.
22 years ago I stayed in hospital for 5 days with dd - by the time i had the youngest, now 11, that had gone down to six hours. the youngest had problem with her kidney which had been diagnosed when I was 20 wks pregnant so the dr wanted to make sure she was peeing ok. Well I kept telling them that she hadn't had a wee at all so we stayed in overnight. After 24 hours without a pee the nurses were all getting quite worried as was I. Then one of them thought to take the nappy off, cut it in half and showed me that she had weed but that it had all been soaked up by the gel leaving the inside dry feeling. silly me I knew nothing about the newfangled technological advances in nappies - we were home within the hour and dd has gotten by since then with her one "superkidney"
anyway I'm rambling in a nurofen-headed way so good evening allI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080
