But I do anyway;)
JackieO lovely to see you posting again, although it's really difficult for you. Enjoy Leeds Castle, it's really beautiful isn't it? When DS1 and his Canadian fiance (now wife) were over in June last year, we took them there for the jousting tournament.
Ollie, congrats on the baby! Daughter is very sensible to get a couple of hours rest while she can:rotfl:
Haribo, hope the back gets better soon. Mmmmm is there a reward for dobbing your DH in?

Afternoon all! Haven't joined in with this for a while but now I'm getting my motivation back a bit more, phew.
Managed to get some bits listed on ebay - only 4 things but they've been sitting around waiting to be put up for weeks. Am in the process of making Christmas decorations to sell at my work's craft festival next weekend...have so far made 3 button hearts and 2 button wreaths, moving onto Christmas puddings next, then might get the sewing out.
Housework is on the back burner for the moment, just too much else to do, although I've just covered my bathroom taps in vinegar soaked kitchen towel as they were driving me mad! Got a cracking headache so glugging plenty off (tap) water to make sure I'm hydrated. Not at work until 4.30 so still plenty of time to make some more and have a nap!
Hope everyone's well today.0 -
Listen.........................................
Oh my no noise nothing just the tap of the keys on the pc! This is heaven!!
They are all now at my sisters, even dd who we thought would maybe change her mind as she has never stayed over before, they were having a great time when i left, lots of sweets and ice cream and toys everywhere!!
So im just catching up on my emails, then will get a few jobs done before siting and doing nothing!!
Chicken curry for tea for me and dh thats in slow cooker already.
Crazychicks ds was with 2 of my kids when the van hit him, feel awful as they didnt come and tell me straight away, i only found out when ds1 came in because he had a thorn stuck in his hand and he told me...and i laughed at first because i thought he was joking!! When he told me whole story i paniced and asked where he was, but my other son had taken him back round next door to get patched up.
If we find out who did it, they better stay out of crazychicks way!!!!!!!!!!
Catch you all later
Donna

Afternoon everyone, anyone remember me?
I used to post in here for a while but stopped when I moved house & took a while to get reconnected - by the time those 2 months without internet had passed I was out of the habit! Now I am cheerfully obsessed with the internet again and fancied coming back - hope that's all okay with you?!?
Some exciting things going on with everyone here - we're in the process of finally sorting out our spending as hubby starts a new job in January and won't be going up to London anymore. Not only will he be on more money, but he'll be working 5 minutes drive from home. He's looking forward to coming home for lunch & I'm looking forward to him not spending on London prices for coffee, etc!
So far today I've put on one load of washing, though I must do another as we're off to a wedding tomorrow and we have no clean clothes to pack! I've been ill for a week so haven't been my usual whirlwind of activity, and it seems to have mostly been the washing that suffered. I only realised this morning when I had to wear some boxers of hubby's that I 'borrowed' while pregnant but he then gave me as I stretched them too much - real emergency wear, my laundry basket is overflowing! I'm planning to get some cheap fabric and have a go at making three laundry bags (one light, one dark, one coloured) -and that way When one's full, it'll be easy to grab the bag& lug it downstairs - I'll try to make it 'one load' sized. It'll use less floor space too as I'll hang it on the back of the door, as we need all the floorspace we can get!
I've emptied and reloaded the dishwasher, and cleaned the fridge shelves that hubby removed at the weekend then left, dirty, on the worksurface. Not the most subtle hint, but I wanted to see if he'd finish dealing with it, considering he started it...but no, muggins here had to do it else it'd never get done!
I've called the council and booked us the second allotment - my neighbours, which has been a dumping ground for a few years - when we took ours on earlier this year, it had just been mown / overgrown for years but we've reclaimed about half of it and have got 6 raised beds so far. Our winter seeds have germinated, and our mooli is ready to harvest! >.<
I've also called the local children's centre and arranged a visit to see about Isaac (3) starting there in January. He's a good lad and has lots of fun at home with mummy, but with my (mild) agoraphobia he doesn't exactly get to play with other kids that much, unless Daddy is around. His nephew is 3 weeks older than him and they play together, plus he plays with the neighbours granddaughter, who's 2, and he's got an auntie who is about 7 months older than him - and to be honest he plays better with them than they do with him or others - he can certainly share, which none of the others seem to want to do, but I guess it's the done thing and it'll be nice to have a few mornings back again. I'm a bit sad about it though!
Yesterday I made oaty biscuits and I might have to make something else today...not sure what though. Dinnerwise tonight is a simple lemon & basil spaghetti as Isaac got his (very!) early Christmas present from his Great Grandma today of his first bike!! so I know that when Daddy gets home the two of them are going to want to be outside as quick as possible - and if there's one thing they eat quickly in this house, it's spaghetti. I think we all just take one big breath and it's gone!
I want to make a few more Christmas cards today as well as I'm doing them in small batches as inspiration strikes - they're looking pretty good so far which I'm pleased by, as I've never done it before and I only did my first one last week - I've got nine lovely cards now which I'm really proud of, and I find it quite soothing as well. Plus of course they look really expensive, and they're not! As well as that a few more rows on the scarf I'm knitting - I only started that this week and I'm 30 and have never knitted before so i'm doing it in little half hours here and there as I can spare the time.
The boy is in bed now - I can hear him running about, but he plays for a while before he naps - so I'm off to have a browse of my recipe books, mmm!0 -
I've just been chatting to DD about her wedding & though some of you may be interested in her costs so far.
Dress free, it's her pink bridemaids dress from her Dad's wedding
Hair & makeup, doing it herself
Shoes £35
Rings £180
Grooms suit, wearing his only suit
Flowers, she's carrying a single white rose
Reception, a meal in a local pub, everyone to buy their own food & drink
Photos, everyone taking some on their own cameras.
Not sure how much the local Registry office is charging
I'n sure it's all going to come in at under £300
She's learning, lol.

Hi there shez
I just put chunks of carrot, potato, onion, swede, parsnips in a big pan.. put cold water about 2/3 up the veg, and bring to the boil, then reduce the heat to low and leave it until the veg are cooked... i keep a big jug and ladle at the side and remove some of the liquid as the veg cooked... don't want it to runny - but don't throw the liquid away... then i add a tin of processed/marrowfat peas -and the liquid and chunks of cornedbeef and leave to cook down a bit -so its nice and thick... plenty of seasoning and you are done....
You can change the veg to suit.. celeriac is lovely etc.. and if you cut the potato into different sizes the little ones break down and thicken it. You will find your own fave version...
Its nice made the day before as it thickens when left to stand... i do it with dumplings, yorkshires and even stick a crust on it... its a really warming, tasty, cheap meal...
Oh and when i have used what i want for dinner -and put a dish out for me for lunch the following day;) any liquid that is left ...has the stock added back to it.. loads of lentils thrown in and when they are cooked i blitz it into a really thick soup... hubby loves it.... well it only gets washed away otherwise and its got loads of flavour in it
waste not want not and all that -hope you like it
