Olliebeak Congrats on the new addition to the family
Crazychik Thats awful about the driver not stopping - thank goodness your DS is OK. I hope you manage to track him down.
Well, today is tidying and packing ready for our trip. I'm quite excited about it - even though its work, its really easy work, so its just like a holiday. I think I will make up a little menu plan today and do a bit of shopping so that we have some food.
Have got 3 pairs of trousers left to iron, will strip the bed and put the duvet in the wash ready for when we get back.
I need a shower, but have to wait until OH is awake to decide whether to stick the immersion on or get the fire going again.
Have a good one :beer:We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
scuzz do you know which charity it is? I have a hand machine that I don't use which could be useful.
The charity is Tools With a Mission. They do have a website www.twam.co.uk (they also take DIY tools!!!)Comping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
Morning all.............(((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) if you need one, and congrats to Granny on your new grandchild, lovely in'it.
My eldest dusghter was born 47 years ago and I was in hosiptal for a week, my youngest son was born 37 years ao and I was sent home 24 hours later!!! so things changed rapidly in 10 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I went back to bed and managed 4 hours sleep before I had to get up and go and get my hair cut, I was gob smacked when I went to write the cheque, it was 8 MONTHS since I got it cut the last time, no wonder it was long!!!!! I now have a full fringe to hide the bit at the front where my hair seems to be thining.
My story about the Buckets is quite amusing in places although rather sad too, such well educated people who have had a shed load of money through their hands and are now faced with mounting debt if they do not change their ways.........time will tell, but up to now they are making good progress, things altered quite rapidly as you will see as the story unfolds over the next few days.
I was suprised when they asked for help.......but gratified in a way, Mrs B said she was aware that we lived on a very limited income and wondered if I could help them face the same challenge...........just what I love doing.....preaching to the uncoverted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its dull and cold here this morning, no real plans for today, tomorrow we have to collect the bowls trophies from the engravers and clean them all ready for Saturday night...........on second thoughts I might just shove the vacuum round the carpet looks a bit grotty, I changed it round last week and it now goes across the room and we seem to have stopped the creeping, so it looks like the carpet was laid the wrong way for the way I had the rug iyswim..........
Right off for a cuppa, then look at what we are having for supper........possibly mince and dough balls, when I did the spag bol there was quite a bit of mince left, and it cannot be frozen again, so....................also have a cauli that wants using..........cauli cheese tomorrow, I will cook extra cauli tonight..........see y'all later.........................Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Just popped back to say congrats Olliebeak. :j
Thanks for the recipe Aussie. :A Mum used to make lettuce soup all the time but I can't convince OH.
TM.....Sorry you [STRIKE]went AOT[/STRIKE] fell down the stairs. But pleased you saved the plate. Good to see you've got your priorities right.
Take it easy. x
Crazychik...You must have had a real shock with DS's accident. It's everyone's worst nightmare isn't it?
Dlb....enjoy your peace and quiet.
Mrs Mix.... Meant to say earlier. You're very brave the way you deal with being in pain. :A
Nelski....Hope the [STRIKE]legs[/STRIKE] kitchen is looking good.
I'm just back fromthe shops and filling the car with petrol £1 a litre now for unleaded. Have a chicken in the SC for tommorrow's soup and second load in the washer. Very sunny here but not sure it's warm enough for drying so may just get the clothes horses out.
Need to dig out the face paints for the girls for tonight too and if I feel up to it will try to get some housework done. It's seriously getting me down.0 -
Morning,
Cold and grey here again.
I had to go down to the bottom of the garden yesterday and explain to a group of kids why they were in someones garden(next doors) and please to leave. Im not really suprised they didnt know as our next door neighbour is very elderly and the bottom of her garden is like a woodland. Also the fence belonging to some of the houses that back on to it has fallen down and they are not bothered about putting it back up. Luckily they were quite nice kids and they went without a fuss. Years back we had a group of boys who were in our garden and they pelted me and DS(about 4) with stones. I had to get the dog(on her lead) before they would go and then they stood outside swearing at us. If we hadn't had an alsatian at the time I think we would have had to call the police.
I picked our pumpkins. There are 4 football sized and one small one. I will have to decide what to do with them next.
OH bought a new flat screen monitor for the computer we have downstairs. We are going to have new cupboards and one is to house the computer but the monitor we had was too big so the flat screen will be much better.
The old monitor will be stored as a spare. Years ago I would have given it away but these days I've learned that as soon as that happens, one of the kids will say their monitor doesn't work.
have a lovely day everyone
Culpepper
PS
SNOWY glad to see you again0 -
Morning :hello: :hello:
Congratulations Olliebeak :j
Crazychic thats really bad have you given the description to the police?
Shez - I love the free coffee and cake at costco too and if you time it right you can have a full lunch with wine with all the promos:D
TM - Sober eh - ? me thinks the lady protests too much:D have fun with DS2 his dad is very foolish not to want to spend time with him imo
So the serenading at the moment is Girls just want to have fun:rotfl: I am really going to miss them when they finally finish. Man count today is down to 2  I am getting far too clumsy losing them like this - maybe I should lock them in the attic for safe keeping;)
If most of you could see my house it would break your heart - fly lady would take the next easy jet flight out and even stardrops wouldnt sort it:eek: but I am smiling through it and enjoying the view. Last night the only food I could manage to get to was some new potatos which i did with some butter and mint and then followed it with a white magnum:o sorry I need ousting from the thread.
Anyway today will be much the same so ill get my coat:D
Hugs to all who need

Morning - back on here with a coffee (don't know how I'd keep going without my caffeine!)
CRAZY - (((hugs))) to your DS - how anyone can run into a child and not bother to stop defies belief. What a b*******.
SCUZZ - thanks for the link. Looks fascinating - I'll have to get DH to go through all his tools - he has thirty years' worth! I'm sure my Mum has a sewing machine that she doesn't use since she bought a high-tech new one.
DLB - enjoy your day all to yourself!
Well, I have put the stew on in the SC - DH loves stew so he's already looking forward to coming home from work. Dumplings are ready to add later. I'll have salad and buffalo mozarella sandwiches for lunch. I need to build up some energy - I still feel exhausted after the thread cold and haven't felt like going to the gym - that's nearly four weeks now. I really hope to go back on Monday but it will probably kill me.
Well, must go and do some work so see you all later. Hoping to hear from Cyprus after FIL, SIL and BIL have been to the hospital so hope to have some news.
See you all later.

Morning all... just
Well i think hubby must be catching the ME/OS bug :shhh: .... the other day whilst we were out and about Mr Nescafe himself "i don't like any other coffee" stopped to look at the coffee... now here we pay roughly £4.50-£5 for a 200g jar  ..... but he spotted Maxwell house which was about £4 a 200g jar.... and decided he would drink that one :T then to top it all he crouches down.....then jumps up all excited that if he gets 2 jars the price drops to £3.00 a jar .... yee gods after 5 years of marriage my hubby has got it... he has finally got the habbit of reading the SEL's to see which is best value :j ..... mind you next time we are in th Uk im stock piling coffe, head n shoulders (about £5.25 a bottle..only one hubby can use-good job he is in the army and has a grade 2 cut)..... bisto gravy granules and bread flour
Then to top it all of hubby played in a golf tournament yesterday.. came home all giddy.. he won :T ... and had won a brand new golf bag..a lovely snazzy red n black one...and some golf lessons... and then declares he is gonna sell them...apparently his own golf bag is fine (a better make.. but just a bit worn)and he may as well sell it..especially as xmas is coming and lots of women won't know what to get their hubbies :rotfl:
My hubby is becoming a ME devotee :rotfl:
sorry to ramble but im just soooo excited and shocked in equal measure:T
Well back to normal now
I have a huge pan of corned beef hash under way on the stove... having it with dumplings... well dumpling for me mmmm i love that...
I have no house work to do today :rotfl: not a thing..... it managed NOT to rain on my clean windows -so im happy....
so im gonna go into the basement..get out some containers and get some broad beans and peas planted... hubby will take them into the garden for me when he gets in... i also have a couple of potatoes that are about to get eyes - so im gonna plant them too... i know they won't be ready for xmas.... but never mindcan't wait to start filling my pots again....
My mum is in the midst of having raised beds done in her garden... brother is using great big railway sleepers.. she is 67 .... allready has 2 greenhouses.. but is sick of shopping and the silly prices... she is soooo excited :T -im doing the same when we hubby finishes in the army and we move back to our own house -:D
Well i had better get off and get those planted
Hugs to everyone who needs one:D-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50
