Your figures from the last year are WONDERFUL, I bet you're glad you did that totting up. Sometimes we all need to remember to pat our own backs.
Happy payday! Blow up the balloons for a 'hell yeah we didn't overspend' party ;-) Party entertainment involves imaginary stroking of our bank balances, and talking about how we'd only have regretted it if we'd spent money on a cake. Then fantasising about a strapping Australian stripper. ..
What did you think of Yardie?Starting debt (Aug 2018) £17,900

FTB - that made me laugh at my desk , I now have visions of a purse petting party going on , with the look of the contentment of a purring cat on our faces.
Yardie was different - I love a brit flick and it was nice to see one that bought the afro-caribbean community in to this , there was also a nice blend of humour bought in
There was lots of little phases and touches that reminded me of a lot of my Jamiacan friends and things they have told me about the culture
That said , the story was a little predictable but I guess most films based on the peddling of drugs will be , I enjoyed it , I'm glad I saw it - Not sure I would have if it wasn't a meerkat night as its a BBC film to will probably be on TV soonish
Saw it at a VUE - ODEON with the lay back seats forever more after that
Have you seen it ?0 -
Oh I keep forgetting I've got that meerkat cinema offer!
No, not seen yet but I liked the trailer. Sounds watchable!Starting debt (Aug 2018) £17,900

Happy Monday
October is going to be a very slow and expensive month
payday was on Friday and I appear to have already demolished two thirds of my salary
Its a 5 + week so it is going to feel like a long old slog to payday . I need to keep the purse and card away and try and forget about anything which isn't an absolutely essential purchase.
I've paid £275.00 which clears the balance on my emergancy card , this is the remainder of the power steering pump for the car , it hurt but I am glad I did it and haven't rolled it over or on to one of the 0% cards
I would like to make a big hole in the Very account this month but I think I will have to see how the month pans out as to what I can contribute
I'm also in two minds as to clearing the defaulted Anglian water account , this is the only blotch now on my credit report , although there is a payment plan in place I am thinking it may just be aswell to clear it and at least then its settled and the report can only improve
I've decided I am joining stoptober - yesterday I went to the vape shop and bought 4 pots of fluid for £10.00 , much cheaper then the dreaded weed and I am also going to abstain from alcohol ! I am sure my muffin top will thank me in the long run
I do have a evening out with the girls on saturday , I am in two minds on this one as we haven't been out for absolutely ages , my ticket to get in to the event is purchased and I'm pretty sure I can manage on bottles of water all night but at the moment I just can't be bothered to go !!! I am due a road trip to see my great nephew the next day so I can use this as an excuse to back out but I am thinking its something I don't do very often now so maybe I should just MAKE myself go.0 -
I think Stoptober sounds like a good idea - the odd drink and smoke soon adds up to lots of money gone. I think you should go to the event, since I've been pregnant I've thought twice about going out because I can't have a drink but honestly it's made minimal difference (I just can't stay out as late because I've been getting tired early). Have soft drinks as you have to be driving the next day and tell your friends you're going Stoptober, hopefully they should support you (and might join in?).
If you can keep yourself entertained on the cheap, you'll be less bored and hopefully do less bored spending!Little One born 19/12/18

Hi Nellie - I think I will probably go
A couple of my friends are Tee total anyway so I won't be the only sober one and I've already bought my ticket so its only a little petrol contribution and a few coca colas
I need to entertain myself as cheaply as possible this month , I have put a little in to savings which is hopefully towards my Christmas shops but it seems one of those months
The change in weather and dark evenings make me want to go out less , I may borrow my mums library card and get some reading material which will be relaxing and pass the evenings.
I have tickets to a champions league game on Wednesday night , I wouldn't usually go but its a rare chance to see some fantastic opposition so I'm taking my youngest nephew along for hopefully a memorable night - Potentially it may cost a little bit as there will be programmes to buy and I may treat him to a match scarf and maybe myself to a doughnut or two0 -
This week work is chaos ! A little too much work load for two people with my supervisor ( how can you still need a supervisor when there is only 1 other person , or maybe I need supervising !! ) due to go on holiday at the end of the week I am absolutely dreading the week ahead
On a positive it may mean that there is a rare chance to get some hours on the board with overtime but I also anticipate that I am going to feel absolutely FRAZZLED ! Hopefully I'll just eat sleep and work which looking at the remaining salary I have for the rest of the month is about all I will be able to do !!!!!
What a time to go Sober for October and try and kick the weed
Funny thing happened last night - I went to visit my friend last night and as its a bit of a trek I stayed over and parked my car on her london street overnight , Because its london and because I always seem to be caught by cameras or wardens I made sure that my car was parked within the white lines set out for the parking area of the street
I absolutely know where I parked as I am usually guilty of over estimating the space behind my vehicle so when I got out , I did a quick check round the car to make sure firstly I was within the lines and secondly that there was plenty of spece for the car behind me to pull out of their space
Imagine my surprise when this morning the car had moved ! Had I not been absolutely thorough with my checks when I parked it I am sure I would have though I am finally losing the plot
It was forward from where I left it outside the perimiters of all of the lines and at a very slight angle , Its only a small car but it was locked and the handbrake was secure so I have been rubbing my head and wracking my brains most of the day trying to work out how it ended up where it was and why ???????
There is no visable damage on the car but it would have been nice if an explaination had been left under the wiper or something or is there no common courtesy left in this world ????0 -
That's very odd! I do hope you get to the bottom of it and let us know.
Work is obviously busy for you so make sure you find the balance between taking over time (for more money) and having some time to yourself for mental clarity. There's no point working the extra hours if you're already knackered as it's just going to wear you down and drive you to drink/smoke/spend. You know your limits so I'll just wish you good luck!Little One born 19/12/18

All I can think Nellie is that someone had broken down and needed to get on a towing vehicle so mine was shifted to enable this
BUT HOW!
Maybe the incredible hulk passed by and gave them a hand .............it certainly made me scratch my head this morning0 -
Maybe the spooks are out early for Halloween - something I absolutely definitely left in one place on my allotment this week was taken out of its bag & moved last night. The carrier bag's gone, but the stuff in it is still there - SO WEIRD. Did someone trespass onto my plot just to nick my bag for life?
Nellie's right about finding the right balance with work + frazzled this month. Good luck! Hope the game tonight will be fun.Starting debt (Aug 2018) £17,900
